The Big Sleep was not a B-movie, but a prestige A film from a succesful ditector.

Absolutely. Never said it was a b-movie. The genre at the time was generally considered B.

And yet, it is the trashy movies that have stood the test of time.

The studios definitely underestimated the genre!

You're not calling the big sleep a trashy movie, are you.

"crime" is not an adjective word. It is a noun. It must be converted, to be used as an adjective word. "Criminal fiction". Learn to stand out from the crowd and to set the right example, rather than to "fit inward" or to imitate the wrong ways of others.

Yeah right - it's been known as 'crime fiction' for a long time

@@royfr8136 Yeah, we can't really defent Gould's The Long Goodbye or Mitchum's THE Big Sleep. They are tough watches.

I'm don't like bogart. I liked the version done by Robert Mitchum. Also, "sleep" isn't a noun. To make it into bein a noun, one must change it. "The Big Sleepin". I'm don't like hammett.
@royfr81364 күн бұрын
Can't say Im a fan of Bogart but... Robert Michum's Marlow in Farewell My Lovely and The Big Sleep were not my cup of tea.... He looks too old and he isn't a great actor... Eliot Guold was also a let down....
@MoivinSulunker2 күн бұрын
@@royfr8136 I'm not claimin better or worse. Somehow I like old Mitchum, not critically, but not young Mitchum and not Bogart. Very subjective it seems, and even perhaps inexplicable.
