Beverly McGowan’s brother didn’t cancel her credit cards hoping it would prompt her to reach out. Beverly McGowan’s brother cancelled her credit cards because he was mad at her, and wanted to control her. If he had not been mad at his sister, he would have realized that cancelling his sister’s credit cards, at this stage of her disappearance, was the worst thing he could do, not only would it put his sister in danger (not having a credit card to book a hotel with, or buy a plane ticket, or eat; etc.), but his sister’s use of her credit cards could track where she was, or track whoever had stolen her credit cards and was using them (her murderer-although he didn’t know Beverly had been murdered when he cancelled her credit cards). It is good thing that he apologized for his mistake.

Cant there be a DNA ancestry done on her? Just to see if she has any living relatives. I dont know how a person can just spend their whole lives doing this, stealing identities, hiding their past, constantly lying....how does it NOT get exhausting!? RIP Beverly ❤

She might have a very sad backstory which led to none of her family claiming her..(like born of rape or something or left abandoned) I think even if they did if Elaine's family would rather stay quiet to keep out of it

It is sad that a person so intelligent and with such a gift to read into other people chose to be a murderer and a criminal, imagine what this woman could have achieved in her life if she had chosen to use her gifts to be an actress or a lawyer, detective or worked for a business corporation for example, instead she destroyed lives. Fascinating case.

I was wondering where she came from, what family, bc nothing is known about that, at all. No one stepped up to say, that was my cousin, or daughter, or even ward ... she was absolutely alone. I think there must be some tragedy behind her coming to use her talents in this sad and cruel way.

@@divinemischief4655 the old discovery channel show called "the fbi files" did an episode on her. Bill Kurtis' original run of American Justice also did one. Must be a rights issue with the story because both shows are from the early 00s and modern shows don't touch it. Another career con artist that is a woman was just profiled on cbs' Fbi Declassified, Dana Laud was one her names..

I don't even give my bank details to my wife! And, when some one knocks on my door, asking if I'm so and so, "I say who are you." Also, when some one who knows me faintly, asks, are you so and so, I reply, "depends whose asking." Further more, when a person asks a question or two, I say, "is this a full police interview." Peace be unto you, and remember SHAK advice, KEEP YOUR OWN COUNCIL.

What is this accent, is it Australian? I'm not native English speaker, I'd love to follow what is said, but I'm struggling.
@Vexarax
@Vexarax 3 жыл бұрын
Yes he is Australian :) my only suggestion would be if you could turn on the automatically generated English captions? They aren't always accurate, but he speaks quite clearly and slowly so if you don't quite understand something he said you may be able to check the captions which might help clarify his wording? :)

@billie6814

Oh wow that's interesting. I'm Australian and you never really think of your own accent as difficult to understand when speaking english. That said I know whenever I'm overseas, I still speak with my normal Australian accent of course, but I'm in the habit now of enunciating my words a lot more clearly because it seems to help people understand the first time around.

@@billie6814 I enjoy Australian accented true crime narration. It's New Zealanders who sometimes stump me. Even when I'm watching a video. Their answers are brief, quiet, mumbled...even turning on captions doesn't always help: the words on screen are so random...at least I know it's not just me. I'm born & raised in Los Angeles, USA. When I worked in telecommunications, I was often told I sounded 'just like a commercial'.
@billie6814

@@brandyjean7015 ah wow, that's really interesting. And that's quite funny! You must have that perfect advertisement voice cadence and accent. I would have probably told you that too, if that's how you sounded, because I grew up seeing American things on TV and in movies, and when I went over to the U.S.A and started experiencing them in real life it was kind of exciting/ trippy. I actually got really psyched to see a yellow school bus and had a male friend who sounded like advertisements. Hah.

You meet a complete stranger in a bar who asks for your social security number, date of birth and driver's license number....and you hand them over? A woman, dressed as a man with a fake moustache, who you barely know knocks on your door at 3am (saying they escaped from a mental hospital) and asks to borrow your birth certificate....and you hand it over? That is beyond stupid. Deserve what happens to you.

I like KZbin premium (though I know it's not an expense many can spare in these times! I have to save every week to afford the monthly membership) but it means you get no ads and the creators you love still get revenue from their hard work if they're choosing to monetize it. It's a good solution but I do understand most don't want to have to spend that kind of money when times are tough like this.
