How can people support a ped0- file? The only thing they deserve is💉🪦 Very sad story indeed, what a legacy these sick parents have left for their remaining children, vile. The healing journey is painful and never ending. I pray they find some semblance of normalcy, furthermore that they find peace. Thanks for another great narration, look forward to the next.

Most disturbing true crime case I’ve ever heard, knowing that someone like Fred West was a golden child to his mom and loved very deeply by her and he turned out to be a monster is so surreal, my sympathies to all their victims and their families

It's absolutely unthinkable that there were literally countless massive red flags about this couple...and yet everyone from the police to social services to child welfare services to the neighbours seem to have just dropped the ball, repeatedly. If I had neighbours who I knew were watching blue movies with their children, if I was seeing swarms of flies and hearing odd thumps & bumps from their home, and if it was common knowledge that the mother of the house was doing sex work out of the home when the kids were there, I'd be beating down the doors of the police and child welfare! Plus, it sounds like nobody at the school bothered to look into all of poor Heather's bizarre behavior or the rumors about her, and when she suddenly vanished completely nobody raised an alarm... it's absolutely horrific! And to top it all off, there's the unbelievable fact that even before Heather's disappearance, several other young women (Shirley, Anna, Rena and the girls from Jordan's Brook Home) and a child known to be close to the Wests had mysteriously and permanently vanished...and still nobody seemed to raise a finger!! Plus, many of the disappearances happened AFTER Caroline Owens had reported the Wests to police, and long after Fred was arrested for SAing his sister and accused of statutory rape of Rose, so it's hardly like the couple wasn't on the police radar!! It's also simply unimaginable to me that both a mother (who was known to be abused) and child known to be involved in a vicious custody battle with Fred could simply vanish, and there was no investigation! It's like the lives of poor Rena and Charmaine didn't even count, and the tragedy of that is profoundly disturbing and sad. Their lives had value, along with all of the other victims...but you wouldn't know that from the way that all the disappearances were ignored. Fred truly was a Teflon man, and for the life of me I can't figure why! p.s. I'm quite literally shaking my head at hearing that Fred claimed he murdered one woman for calling Rose a slag. She was openly using their home as a brothel, FFS! But he found that particular term so offensive that he was driven to murder!? Unbelievable.

The community is complicit imo. This story is sickening on so menu levels. What those two did is so terrible but the fact that that community let them do it because they didn't think the victims mattered is almost as bad, it's horrifying

I've never been fully convinced Rose ever killed anyone. I dont think murder was of particular interest to Rose. What she enjoyed was sexual sadomasochism. She understood the girls couldnt be allowed to leave afterwards, so I think she viewed their murder, which she left to Fred, as a kind of inevitability. As for Charmaine, I believe that was Fred, for 3 main reasons. The first is that on one hand you have a 17 year old girl who has never killed anyone, though she has a temper and can be cruel , and on the other hand you have a 30 year old man that certainly has killed, at least once. So the likelihood of being Charmaine's killer swings in his favour. Then, you have the date of her death and the date of Fred getting out of prison being quite close. Especially when you consider Charmaine death date is an approximation. And finally, there were small bones missing from Charmaines body, in true Fred West style. If she were Rosemarys victim I doubt he would take keep sakes; Charmaines body wasnt 'his work'. Even though Im not convinced she's a murderer, its completely right that she be serving a whole life sentence. She was complicit, she was essential to many of the kidnappings, she performed acts of torture, she beat and sexually abused the children, and she forced Anne Marie into prostitution.

The more detail that's revealed here about what happened to these poor victims, the more unbearable it feels. In this time of such desensitisation due to graphic violence depicted in films, games and even books, the account of Fred & Rose West's depraved crimes would give any horror story a run for its money. I can only hope that some of the things done to the victims were done post mortem bc it's too disturbing to contemplate what those girls were feeling as they endured their miserable experiences and ultimate deaths. Utterly nightmareish and horrifying doesn't even come close to describing it. The last visit of some of the West children to their childhood home before its demolition felt particularly heartbreaking.

Everyone in the neighborhood knew! They knew this couple weren't fit to be parents with all their lewd behavior! Yet, not one neighbor thought about those eight kids that lived with these monsters! Knowing they watched porn with their kids. As well as the comings & goings of men! I don't know how they could look at that house & not think of those kids! They lived there for over 20+ years. Didn't they think something was wrong when these kids were never allowed to play outside with the other kids? No friends coming & going from their home. Twenty plus years & not one neighbor thought to alert authorities or child services. They sure didn't think twice about cashing in on the publicity! All it takes is one person to speak up. We're supposed to protect children from these heinous crimes.
