DESCRIPTION
When residents of the affluent Southfields area of south-west London notice foul smelling smoke coming from a home on Wimbledon Park Drive in September 2017, firefighters arrive to make sure the house isn’t in danger. Nothing could prepare them for what they find instead - the burning human remains of French au pair, 21-year-old Sophie Lionnet.

Domestic workers from overseas who work in private homes have so little protection from abuse. Horrible case, RIP Sophie

this is a horrific story - poor Sophie, who did nothing wrong and ended up in the hands of these two people who had no self control or decency. That poor, poor girl.

How about calling them what they were: evil, cruel, vicious killers. Hope they get what they have coming and that they suffer and know what’s coming before they die.

Sophie was a very kind, empathetic person, the perfect person for a mother or childcare worker. From her last note, part of the reason she didn't leave was to protect her young charges from their mother and her partner. Poor Sophie. What a cruel end to a gentle soul, someone everyone would wish to have in their life.

Yup. Its a joke here. 'Life imprisonment' rapidly diminishes with time served, good behaviour, maximum sentence tariffs, parole eligibility etc. It's insulting to victims and their families.

It seems unbelievable that clearly very sick people don't get medicated to prevent their distructive illnesses. Her behaviour had long been so clearly irrational and paranoid. As for the husband, well, I don't know what was wrong with that pathetic creature-- obsessed with his (x)wife to such a degree he'd go along with anything.

Mark was supporting Sabrina, Sabrina ruined it with countless false accusations and abuse. She then blamed Sophie for the consequences of her behaviour, not Sophie’s. Her mental health was not delusions, these were choices to avoid accountability. Sabrina has full blown narcissism and her partner was merely her servant!

Of course I feel the worst for Sophie and her mother, but I watched an interview with Mark and really felt so bad for him as well. He feels responsible for what happened to Sophie, and showed the interviewer that he keeps her picture in his wallet. I can't imagine waking up one day and finding out that you unknowingly played a part in someone's death. Obviously what Sabrina did is not Mark's fault, but the guilt must be insane.

I would never ever let a 20yo daughter as gentle as Sophie was work for complete strangers as a live in employee in another country. That said I'm sure her parents in their worst nightmare could've imagined that Sophie would end up being brutalized to death by a woman who apparently was devoid of empathy at a molecular level ...just too many monstrous people in the world to be naively permissive with any loved ones' lives. At 20yo I barely survived my own naivety in Los Angeles being exposed to a religious cult where on the surface I could come and go as I pleased (where I was tethered under their canopy of thoughts and beliefs).
@samih5916
@samih5916 Жыл бұрын
Shut up, stop talking about yourself being exposed to a religious cult at 20 years old, this has nothing to do with this case and you're just trying to get sympathy. Also you're sick for blaming Christie Marceau's mother for opening the door and didn't know that Akshay Chand was the one knocking on the door.

Sophie did everything and more that the children's parents, especially their mother, should've been doing. I don't see anything wrong with having a nanny or an au pair but treating them this way is indefensible.
