I'm gutted that the 3 neighbours who heard screams did nothing. When you hear someone scream for real there is no doubt that something bad has happened. If just one of them had acted, Catherine may have survived instead of being left for half a day drowning in her own blood.

People hear screams in the middle of the night, but don’t choose to investigate. The neighbor knocks on the door and gets no response, yet hears sounds from inside the house. He also chooses not to investigate or look into the windows or walk around to the well-known unlocked back door. And now two women are dead. And this is just one more reason why I hate people.

Its sad that a dog would help to protect a person quicker than a human being. Well not sad on the Dogs part, they are just more loving and loyal........Just my opinion.

​@@andreascala2663there are many things about this case and rumours of who done it including police involvement due to missing evidence that wasn't mentioned in this video, I remember that day well and still wonder who did it, I do believe the killer is from Cowra or neighbouring towns, but guess one day the truth will come out on who done it

Strange questions. In my day, kids left school at 16, to learn a trade or girls, to get jobs in the bank, a utilities offices, whatever. Only the top 10% went to university. A different Commonwealth country. The children's father moved away possibly for a better paid job? I'm glad he had them at the time of the murder. What I want to know is why Catherine had to hold down two jobs to support her two girls and herself.

@@SHurd-rc2go These two left school at age 15, the one got a job as a sales assistant. This was in the ‘70’s. My sisters grew up in the ‘60’s, and both graduated. I don’t know what time period you were referring to regarding “in your day.”
