I’m new to podcasts, and Casefile has been the only podcast I’ve listened to (Spotify) I’m about a month/ 20 cases in, and this was the first one I’ve listened to that there has been no conclusion/arrest. This has done my head in and I’ve become somewhat minor obsessed with this case. I live a fair old way around the world from Delphi Indiana but I think of the girls and hope the perpetrator is caught. I’m struggling to believe there is video and sound recording of the person, in a small town and 2 years later there is no justice. Thank you Casefile, hopefully you will assist in serving justice.

We all get obsessed when learning about this case. It's heartbreaking and mind boggling. And very frustrating I might add. Someone is covering this BG w a false alibi!!

@@UnderCver-bd1xh I believe you are correct, and maybe LE’s appeal to the killer’s conscience was actually directed toward this alibi person, since psychopaths don’t have much guilt, I don’t think.

When I hear something on this particular case ... I feel some type of way. I just can’t imagine anything more terrifying for these precious girls. And I just can’t believe they have a video of this man voice recording of this man and probably dna on their bodies and he has not been caught. I just feel so sick and sad for these babies

It's too bad Libby didn't hold up her phone as the attacker got closer and say: "BACK OFF! I'm livestreaming you right NOW to all of my Facebook contacts! " I know calm hindsight is 20/20, but she was ALMOST there with the photos she secretly took of him from her jacket or pocket. It might have made him rethink and leave, or, if it looked like the point of no return, if he was going to kill them anyway, they would have had nothing to lose if this confrontation angered him, with no one to help them and no where to run. At least he would have likely been in jail by now. It would almost be like having the deterrent of a personal bodyguard or closed circuit cameras to have your phone at the ready to livestream, especially when you're hiking alone, though you would need good cell coverage. It's a sad commentary that you need to have a personal camera on you at all times even when doing mundane things like hiking a well traveled trail or going to a mall or corner store at night. All because the normal barriers to the new breed of violent, self-indulgent killers no longer applies. RIP brave ladies.

@Iman Amatullah The idea is not to NOT solve the crime, but to help prevent future crimes by arming people with knowledge and tools to possibly help if they find themselves in a similar situations. It's not an "either/or" situation.

@@dreamersruleNOW There are some adults that wouldn't have had the wisdom to run either and some kids that would've. The fact that she took his picture showed that she had the maturity to record something she knew was very dangerous. And wisdom isn't going to get you very far when you're out in the middle of nowhere and a skilled predator sneaks up on you and there's nowhere to run anyway. Unless you're armed, there's not much you can do. And I called them ladies because they behaved like brave adults and stuck together and faced the enemy to the end.

@@robbrien8506 wisdom tells you to never be alone in an isolated place like that to begin with! She was smart to record him but if with that and audio, and they still can’t find him, that’s worrisome

"Police reacted immediately" Thats refreshing for a change, compared to police refusing to take missing cases seriously and presuming that they would just show up eventually.

Wonder why they did? It wasn’t cold, and according to this podcast LE said they didn’t think there was an imminent threat to the girls, so wonder why the rapid response.

I recently watched a show where the audio was cleaned up & he said "Go down the hill". Some people thought he said "Guys, down the hill". The show i watched was Ben Webster. He broke down every part of the film, the video too.

This case o f Libby and Abby has haunted me since it happened...how Libby though to record him is something many, actually most. would not think to do...I so want for Libby and Abby to have peace in the afterlife knowing their killer(s) have been prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law...my luv thoughts and prayers to the families...my thanx to U for doing these podcast...and my prayers to God to put and end to this case

What I still don't understand is why the killer didn't remove their phones, when he was being recorded he was facing forward he could see the phone, why wouldn't he just get rid of them after killing them, doesn't make sense to me

I'm sure the investigators have determined who knew the girls were going on that walk that day??? The man on the bridge looks so casual, hands in his pockets.....almost as if he happened on the girls and then decided to do the unthinkable! It seems they suspect someone local???

I've listened so much to descriptions of these two little girls that I feel like I know them! They were both wonderful little girls and the world was made alot worse place to live in when that monster took them! 💔

I can't believe that they still haven't made an arrest in this case. I am obsessed with it. I live only 73 miles from Delphi and I want to go help the investigators but I don't think they would like that very much! We are 4 years in guys come on.

All that the police saying.....I don't think they have a clue. Did they not turn this case over to the FBI yet? If they hadn't had a murder in 20 years then they may need more help. The fact they got a video, and sound is more upsetting because it has not located the killer yet. I don't know what footage they have but the younger image looks nothing like what I see on video nor does he sound as young as the sketch. I always thought it was some type of authority figure, like LE or similar to. Possibly acting like they were LE. My heart goes out to the families. I don't want to imagine their pain.

He's been imprisoned and has not been convicted never been found guilty! He's been treated like a concentration camp victim! The State of Indiana has royally screwed up! There's no evidence that has been released to lead one to believe they've arrested the right person. A family man, CVS employee never hurt a fly! Disgraceful

The facts point at Richard Allen innocence. The jury was unaware of 75% of the facts in this case. Total sham

When they played the first “down the hill” clip release it did almost sound like “go down the hill” but then when they released the second one it was “guys… down the hill” and we don’t know what was in between 🤷🏻 I guess.

A guy got charged with their murder, yes. There's actually going to be a trial in a month to determine his guilt, unless it gets delayed again (because the trial was meant to happen in January). His name is Richard Allen.

I wish I could find out if oil truck drivers staged near there. In the video of the suspect it looks like he has the goggles that they wear around his neck. Its bothering me.

@@grimtt it's part of their personal protection that they are required to wear. So they dont get anything splashed in their eyes. When they are sitting at a staging area some of them like to walk because they are in the trucks all day. That's how alot of truckers get over weight.
