This is my favorite traditional knife ever. I own many traditional lockback knives and I love the angling of this Case Hammerhead and prefer it over the Buck 110.
@ThriftyKaniffy Жыл бұрын
It's a nicely built knife and the shape does make it quite a bit different than the 110.
@thomasgentry62017 күн бұрын
Damn Right Buck still a good Knife just not the Best.Back then 80s thru 90s the Case new if memory correct only 10 to 20 USD more than Buck 101.
@BushcraftWoodsDevil Жыл бұрын
Great vid! These and the mako were THE KNIFE that everyone desired but most could not afford. The BUCK 110 was a bit more economical, but if you had the CASE you were the top dog, lol. I couldn't afford either and had a SCHRADE folding hunter, which was even lower on the spectrum. Thanks for showing this!
@ThriftyKaniffy Жыл бұрын
Yea it's a very well built knife. I think I still prefer my 110 though. As nice as it is it still seems like a copy to the original.
@GhostRider_237 Жыл бұрын
hi! you mean Case is a copy? I have a Buck, but I want to buy Hammerhead too
@BushcraftWoodsDevil Жыл бұрын
@@GhostRider_237 I *think* what he means is, the 1989 edition he presents here is not on par with the originals issued in the 1970's, but that's just a guess on my part. There is a tendency for makers to take time and cost saving shortcuts over time. I've seen a lot of complaints lately about CASE's quality control - - mostly backspring gaps.
@thomasgentry620115 күн бұрын
Retired USN Boatswain mate served and used Knife daily all dqy for two decade 80s and 90s. The Case Hammerheads produced then the best most reliable EDC carry of the time over the Buck 101. Reason hold edge longer after cutting NYLON line aka rope which was a Must!

I tell the Truth , I got a Buck 112 given to me by my Uncle one birthday and a couple of weeks later I was working on one of my trucks and I placed the knife on top of the cab and forgot I put it there and when I was done working on the truck I shut the hood and the knife fell to the blacktop asphalt driveway about 6 feet , The knife blade broke almost dead in half , at that moment I said I will never own another Buck even if someone gifts one to me .

@@ThriftyKaniffy I did the exact same thing but there wasn’t the upgrade available when I got mine. It’s nice that they offer it as one package now. I have the Ken Onion with blade grinding attachment but don’t like using it on pocket/expensive knives. It is good for axes/hatchets tho.
