Good video, I've never used the warenty for a knife, but I have used the lifetime warranty offered by Tilley Hats, in my opinion the best hats made. Very similar process as you described, email form and photos. No need to return the hat being replaced, cut the crown off send a photo and pay for the shipping on the replacement.

I had a brand new vault pattern knife that lost the shield. They contacted me with the same offer to send a shield. Since it was that year’s model the correct shield was easy to identify. They sent it promptly and I glued it in. I’ve been well satisfied with all warranty claims I’ve had with Case.

Awesome video, Jeff! I had picked up a birth year Case Eisenhower knife. When it arrived I found it had a bent tip on the main blade, which I must’ve missed in the product pics. I reached out to Case with the description & pics and the team passed the knife and gave me the green light to send it in. Fingers crossed for positive results for the both of us! 🤞🏼

Buy it in person from a store the qc is very hit or miss I've sent back 2 to get a good one

So many years ago case sent me a shield to replace my missing one. But I didn't add enough of the adhesive behind the shield and in my case it sank in too deep and didn't fit flush but was now permanently attached but sunk in a bit. I was young and impatient, so I didn't do it right. Wishing you better results.

This video reminded me that I had a issue with one of my case knives which I completely forgot about it. My first 6208 half whittler ( BSA model ) had the shield fall out a few years ago, I super glued it back in and that was the end of it. It's been fine since which is great because that knife is special to me. I'll always love case. There's a bladeforums member who holds a scout knife giveaway to honor his brother who had tragically passed at a young age, and the 1st year he held the giveaway Case found out about it and sent him 5 BSA 6208 half whittlers to giveaway. I was one of the winners, and the 08 became my favorite Case pattern.

I have one where the shield came loose right after buying it; I still have the shield and knife (I can't remember which model). I sat it to the side, as in life I forgot about it. I'd be interested in what glue they recommend using. I thought about using superglue but wasn't sure that would be right. Does anyone know what glue they recommend, or should I contact them and ask?

For mine I have always used a dab of titebond and never had one come back loose, but I suppose it could depend on what the handle scale material is. Mine are mostly all wood scales.

I recently bought a sodbuster Jr. Opened the box and pulled the knife out. The shield fell of immediately. Was pretty upsetting. But just mounted it myself. QC should be better for them I guess. But like you said. Not the end of the world 👍🏼

Depends on where exactly you are located perhaps. Case knives are available in mainland Europe too. I own a couple. :)

@@onesky8647 did you bought from a local dealer? I looked up on their website and it says: "Unfortunately, we don't accept orders from outside the U.S. or ship product to countries outside the U.S."

@@MSR_666 Yes, a local distributor in different countries (i.e. Messerworld in Germany & Knivesandtools in the Netherlands, Lamnia in Finland & Coutellerie Tourangelle in France). Just look for online knife shops. Unless the knife is made in Europe I have to go through a reseller.
