I just got a ruby stardust one of these with the standard spey. It makes a beautiful purse carry. Not too big but big enough.

That is a very interesting knife, a stockman with a punch. About a week ago I ordered the same knife off of ebay for just under $20. They sent me the wrong knife. I ended up with a beautiful Case camp knife instead. As a strange twist I also found an old 8OT with a worn spey blade that I turned into a punch, so it worked out after all!

On my stockmans, I usually file the Kick down some just so that Sheepsfoot blade doesn’t ride so high.

My EDC is the Yellow Synthetic Case medium Stockman (#18). The reason I love it is the profile of the Sheep foot blade. For me, it is the primary blade on this pattern.

The punch on the Stockman is a good idea. I'll take a Stockman hiking/walking with me, the sheep's foot is for whittling, main blade for food prep and the spey is usually a spare. A punch would be more useful. Well done on dropping the weight, puts a bit more of a spring in your step doesn't it!

I wish I could trust Case's quality control. My last two purchases had to go back due to big qc issues. I hope they start to improve. Victorinox gets my momey now. Love the review and that model!

Just got this knife in the mail yesterday was wanting your opinion. The main blade has a good bit of side to side play. Do you think I should send it back or do you think most of them are gonna be that way?

I ordered one of these the box was dirty and the shield was dirty and the blades scratched terribly and the ad I bought it from showed a Spey blade not the punch and it was through shepperd hills

Case’s quality control is like a blind squirrel trying to find a nut, they get it right once in awhile but the last two I bought were bad fit/finish. Won’t buy again!
