I loss my firstborn son last year @ 18 to gun violence and my 10yr old committed suicide bc he couldn’t handle the pain of his Big Bro not bein here anymore. I have actually known three people who lost children to gun violence, even though they had reached adulthood by the time it happened. One is Jeanette White, whose grown son Darrell was murdered following a traffic accident the evening of January 22, 2006. Near 73rd and Indiana, only a couple of blocks from where this murder happened. I attended the funeral. Case remains unsolved to this day.

The violence is primarily in our community... where black people live. The city of Chicago Police and other authorities have allowed crime to terrorize good black people who work and live in their communities. If this was going on in white communities it would have been stopped. The rest of Chicago is happily living and thriving.
