DESCRIPTION
657 Boulevard in the affluent neighborhood of Westfield, New Jersey immediately caught the attention of Derek and Maria Broaddus. The striking six bedroom, four bathroom Dutch Colonial style home was the perfect place to raise their family - or so they thought...

Get into a zone with your podcast... I respect your consistency in quality and thorough coverage of the tragedies. You present the information to us in a way that keeps the victims humanized, as opposed to becoming a topic of conversation that is easily removed from any empathy or regards for the person or persons affected by said tragedies.🤝 We always know what to expect from you as far as quality goes, and I commend you for that, much appreciated also.

You're in lockdown? Because what we hear about Australia is that covid is practically non-existent over there 🤔 in any case, sorry to hear it. And if you're ill please feel better soon! I fell asleep last night watching an old episode of Sensing Murder, hosted by Rebecca Gibney. It's still quite strange for a northern hemisphere citizen to hear August referred to as 'nearing the end of winter', and hearing Christmas spoken of as being a "hot summer day'. It must be the same for you guys when you most likely have stumbled upon children's books about Christmas and there is snow and bundled up people "dreaming of a white Christmas", lol! Really wish I could live down under half the year and truly enjoy Endless Summer (speaking of, both wonderful surfing movies by the same people, 30 years apart!) Again, feel better if you are ill and try to keep busy if you are not. I can't wait for all the books to come out with titles like,, 1001 Ways to Enjoy a Productive and Fulfilling Lockdown"lol

1. Of course the Woods weren't particularly distressed by the letter they received on the way ...OUT. And not a very sensitive initial response. At least they participated in the meeting at the police station 2. Someone in the neighborhood threw a barbecue just to welcome new neighbors?? I can barely throw a big pot of spaghetti together for the five people that are here at suppertime who never eat the same thing at the same time (spaghetti being the only common dish.) Sincere kudos and much respect for whoever managed that one 👍

All I kept thinking was why on earth a camera or doorbell cam or similar had not been set up to cover the letterbox?? Those letters didn't float in there all by themselves! I'm not suggesting it was the new family who was responsible but it seems fishy to me. A prank that some proper surveillance may have put to bed long before they resolved to sell up at such a loss.

@@nancychisholm5399 lol! So, wishing you a Happy belated Victoria Day! 🇨🇦. And I believe in the UK they have the equivalent to our spring and fall sort of observances (Memorial Day (traditionally, May 31st, and, Labor Day, early September, generally the first Monday of the month)called May and August Bank Holidays, respectively, which pretty much correspond to America's Memorial Day weekend, the observance of present and former military servicepersons, all branches, who have passed, in active service or not. But however they are called, wherever they occur, I personally think it's quite nice to have holiday weekends that mark the beginning (😀!!!) and the end (😪) of summer. Peace☮️, Nancy,...... True. Although it's not hard to poison a dog if you're crazy enough to do something like that, which the watcher certainly seemed like he was. But at the same time every time I've heard of this case i had my doubts that the watcher ever really posed a serious threat. The letters to me sounded more like a pathetic attempt to scare the new neighbors and get some kicks from doing so. Seems like only a real loser would do something like that but i can understand when put in that situation yourself it probably wouldn't be as easy to brush it off...
@scratchking3205

Since the watcher hasn't messed with the new residents I have to assume that the couple must have done something to upset him/her. I mean something that truly caused a lot of grief for the watcher. Hard to imagine someone would take that much time out of their life unless they were dead set on getting even for something. Just a theory.

it is the shame that they could just not move the house to another lot. I know that's not a trivial pursuit but it is possible and not unusual I wonder how the neighbor would have felt about selling them 2-4 feet of his property, so then the owners could split the lot, probably not all that great. Then again both houses (on each side) could have bought half the property, donated two or three feet each and then split the property, and they both would have made money, or they could have split the property had the house moved and 657 would disappear.
