I've been getting through the full four hour beast, but I think here is probably the place to leave a comment on it. It is hands down the best interview that I've ever heard or read with Casey Stoner. It's probably the best MotoGP rider interview ever, and it's definitely one of the best. As a general "window into the mind of a topline athlete" piece, it's exceptional, never mind specifically racers. I think anyone who races anything should listen to the whole thing. TL;DR - I liked it.

Casey as humble and articulate as ever was hesitant to quote an in theory Laptime, but everything he said was 100% spot on, if perfect conditions, and he got to ride the new surface on his best bike quali set up I have absolutely no doubt in my mind Casey could lap in the 1:26.00s I wouldn't be surprised if he punched out 3 in a row 1:26.80 1:26.35 1:26.44 just to silence his haters and put a stop to those in the Italian media who would constantly print nasty untrue bullshit whenever they saw an opportunity.

The slides were beautiful. But to me the most fascinating thing about Stoner's style was, that he would always hit the same lines every lap. He didn't throw the bike in like a brute. He drove it precisely like a surgeon. It looked like he was in total control. That I found much cooler than going gungho like others.
