The tent comes with 2 full size pieces of white closed cell foam as packing material. Do not throw it away. You can cut it to size and place it under the condensation mat for extra padding for sleeping. This is my first Roof Top Tent and I originally replaced the mattress with 4 inch memory foam. I now use the original mattress. It is real comfortable and it allows me to keep my bedding in the tent when closed. Love the channel!

Agree with this. Mine came last week (I haven't mounted it yet) but planned on putting the foam sheet under the mattress. It will also provide additional R value

Hey, love the foam tip! I've had my Topoak tent for about six months now and never thought to use it like that. It’s been awesome! just took it to Yosemite with my girlfriend, and it was incredible. It stayed dry and airy, even in the rain. Thanks for the idea, I’ll definitely give it a try next time!

14:07 To address the footing issue on the ladder they could make some extra rubber rungs that attach to the already existing rungs that are angled that increase your footing to also help limit slipping.

That's kind of how Alucab does it but metal.

For the price of a medium sized fridge you can have a roof top tent. Thanks for covering the economical version. Your experience and honesty Casey is what makes the difference. Do we have a discount code? Casey get on that moss on your roof. Us Subs have standards.

Great review! I'm looking for an affordable RTT. You might thing about getting the roof on your house cleaned...make it last a lot longer...I get mine cleaned here in western Oregon yearly...just a thought!
@Casey25014 күн бұрын
It needs replacing so I have been just leaving it until the spring, usually it gets cleaned every other year. Thanks though! The moss is annoying.

Is there a place on their website to check vehicle comparability? I didn’t notice if there is.

I'd like to see a review of Darche tents. Brigade Overlander has a double (55") that I'd like to try out.

Been wtching for a long time now, and have been eyeing a newer RTT - everything i wanted was 3k + for this style. and the current one i bought for a few hundo, used, ive gotten my monies worth from and i am desperate for an upgrade. From this video i just placed the order for mine, using your code, sad though about the 300$ shipping, but still 200$ less overall. Thanks man. Keep it up. now i can use my tent reliably without worry of leaking, and water proofing etc.

Great video, definitely going to consider picking this up to put on my Gladiator. Would you be able to do a follow up video with the winter insulator fabric Topoak has as an add on option?
@Casey25018 күн бұрын
If you check out the other video I did with top oak I used the winter insulator in it. To be honest it's kind of clunky to lug around and put in and I've camped all winter in several tents and just use a good sleeping bag or others use diesel heaters.

@ Thank you for letting me know I’ll go back and watch that video. Can you close it with it installed or does it have to be removed each time you use it?
@Casey25014 күн бұрын
I would remove it each time.

Does it have an opening for a heating tube ? I would also line to see better coverage over the ladder inclement weather . Maybe a zip on at the top and attached to the ladder half way down so some how so I could hand my jacket etc in an area while not in the weather .

No port for a heater.

@Casey25018 күн бұрын
Its a Rhino rack backbone, with Prinsu feet, and Alucab low profile cross bars.

The price on the site is $1499 usd, I think it would be confusing too. Us Canadians talk about pricing in USD all the time, I don't think there is anythign wrong with that. I always notate things are in USD in videos. American KZbinrs don't do that.
