For the planar tracker setting it to stabilize also works. And readjusting the points to whatever part of the video you want to stabilize becomes more smoother

No better outros 🤣. And the education is pretty damn good, too. Thanks, Casey, you always make it possible.

What is the best method to handle the bounce that is created with clips taken when walking?

when you lock down the camera on a shot with a lot of parallax going on, it will wobble. There is no way to lock down parallax, it's baked in. The only thing you can do is stabilize x and y rotation to remove camera shake but for that you will need a 3D track and a projection setup.

One of the ONLY reason I cannot finish my work in Davinci and always have to back to FCPX is the Stabilization is WAY better in FCPX, The Davinci options just do NOT work and I have tried a combination of every setting possible. Davinci no matter what always has some wonky parts somewhere

You have to truly play with all the parameters and settings within Resolve. Casey only covered the topic very generally. Wait, there's more! I truly helps to first understand what type of stablisation algorithm your respective footage needs. Lastly, buy a decent tripod. It's easier to add believable post camera movement than take it away. Most people (the casual observer) aren't going to notice the lack of parallax, especially if they're engaged in what their viewing. Tripods aren't the sexy filmmaking tool, but they're pretty essential kit. You don't need to go ham on a Manfrotto or Sachtler, as long as it's steady and can support the weight of your camera and peripherals. Be wary of "travel tripods," as tempting as the promise of a lighter footprint is. Those are better for photographers.

@@matthewhartman7176 As I stated and before I even commented I have been trying for the last 3 weeks on several projects and went back and forth with every single parameter possible. And the result was FCPX did it WAY better, nothing to do with what I edit with or not, I am strictly talking about stabilization. FCPX nailed it on the first go no problems at all, no funny wobbly corners or distortion artifacts or weird effects, nothing at all. And actually FCPX hardly even needed to zoom in on the clips. Since it really surprise me just how bad Davinci was , I did several tests over a week period with many types of clips and the results were the same. Believe me, I wish that was not the case bc it is a PIA to have to go back to FCPX just to get it done. I wish I was wrong.

@@matthewhartman7176is there a way to perform a parallax in post from footage shot on a tripod?

@ekphotography agreed. Version 18s algorithm did a way better job. Also not happy with version 19 stabilizer.

i thought the auto feature was for the studio version. if i remember correctly, doing this on the free version gives you a water mark if it doesnt lock you out of using it by telling you it is a paid feature and giving you a link to the purchase page

It's probably because I don't know what I'm doing, but i have an issue with a fusion that doesn't line up with my edit page. I set key frames in fusion, but when playing the video on the edit page, the transitions happen at different times. Anyone know what I did so I don't do it again? Or how to fix it?

Random Guess: Something to do with the Global In/Out on the Fusion page not matching what the Edit page thinks is going on.

If your work is in demand, clients will come to you, provided they know you exist, of course, which the previous commenter alluded to. Your marketing game needs to be on point. Don't assume people will find you by osmosis. This means you're creating channels or accounts on all the major social media platforms. Prepare yourself to spend half, if not more of your energy sheparding this, including creating content that people actually want. Don't create things based on what you want. That's not how supply and demand works. You have to swallow your pride and ego because some things that people find hot are ridiculously dumb and counter to the premise of actual artistic vision. Like fashion. This always sells well, is low hanging fruit in terms of getting the most out of the least effort, as the content usually sells itself. If this hurts your soul, it hurts a lot of us. If you don't need to make an income with your art, then you're free to express yourself as you personally see fit.
