Little Wrecker vs Stuck Dump Truck!

My little 4x4 wrecker goes up against a dump truck that got stuck in the sand while building a house pad at a remote off grid property. With a little winching, and then one good pull from the @YankumRopes we were able to get it back onto
solid ground. After that Grumpy and I made a trip to @harborfreight to grab some supplies for an upcoming video!

Yeah I know, if the brake being locked up is what caused it to get stuck, that tire wouldn’t be the one that dug a huge hole. I realized that after I put that part in the video, but was too lazy to go back and re edit it so I just figured oh well 🤷🏻‍♂️

Na man you're good brake caused other tire to spin caused him to get stuck. (we both know it don't take much of a hole to get a truck stuck) then locked the axles to continue digging holes and further his problems.

I think 🤔 the continued previous attempts to get unstuck caused a brake issue! If Sand and Dirt get into the brake drum, and it’s spinning with the break shoes actually probably providing the surface for the sand to get stuck against, that caused a lot of Friction thus Heat! And it’s obvious to me that the drums are warped the contact from the sand and brake shoes insulated that area and held heat overnight versus the other areas that would have been open to air and cooling down at a different rate! (Hey I had troubles with sand in my 800 series 5 ton dump truck in Desert storm) I’m willing to suggest that the Dust shields are also removed from the trucks wheel ends for ease of inspection or a lazy or absent minded person...

I bought that same battery charger about a year ago. Very happy with it so far, I've been using it to keep a project car charged that I'm working on, and loaned it to my dad who maintains a couple older cars and he liked it better than any charger he's ever had.

I work for the school district in Vegas. And at the time the truck that I had was a GMC 1 ton with a 10 foot utility bed. With this truck I pulled out a semi truck that was stuck in the sand and he had double trailers that were loaded. Don’t quite remember why he pulled off the side of the road and off the pavement but when he did his rear tires sunk. I had no rope and all he had were tiedown straps in his truck. So using tiedown straps which I kept breaking because of the sharp edge of his bumper, I finally pulled him out and it was on an uphill grade so yes I have no doubt that your tow truck will be able to pull that dump truck out. You did good work keep it up. God bless you and your family.

Man I did know how much better trucks with dual rear wheels were until I had one. They tend to get better traction and have a higher load carrying capacity. The first and only dually I've had was a 1980 f350. I've carried 6000lbs of concrete in the bed and I still had some capacity to spare. Hell of a truck.

Before there was something like a Yankum Rope, we used 2 logging chains and an old tire and we could pull the D6 out with a Ford Ranger.

Well done Casey I had a dump truck loaded with 1inch clean that got stuck in our pasture and we used a big John deer tractor and my 1 ton she had to dump a little bit of the load but after 20 minutes we finally got her out personally I would of thought she should have checked out the situation first but it is what it is. I have a friend down the road that thinks harbor freight is junk but everything that I have bought from them I still have. Awesome content Casey and as always be safe 👍

Cassey I am a chief engineer on ships and to mitigate the recoil on winch lines as they get loaded up just throw a yankum rope over the winch cable and if it breaks the yankum rope will take the power away you can use anything a winter coat works as well hope you can understand what i am trying to say lol

A land anchor works really good in situations like that also if you have no tree or anything to attach to in front.
