Its a merrywidow!!! Def needed a tutorial for this! Its a version of a corset. Only in the 60s did many women really stop wearing corsets/structured undergarments. Now weve finally gone back to silhouette instead of skintight :D

Oh a Merrywidow! That's a fun term, I'll have to look into those. That's kind of one of the hard parts of not being technically trained I don't always have the right words for things so I don't always know what to Google

Thanks girl! I've been trying so more chill vibes in videos because that's what I like watching and I like making videos that I like to watch hehe I really need to get the 35mm focus issues down.

Love it! You did a great job I'm! I'm a bra maker and usually spray baste my lace to my cup lining with spray adhesive. I've also seen some bra makers sew their long line bras with the seams on the outside and then attaching channeling on top to keep the finish really clean.

Oh those are great ideas! I thought about using a heat fusible for the two layers but I was afraid with them both being mesh that I would be able to feel a residue but that spray sounds like a really good idea, I'll have to consider it in the future.

@@CaseyReneeCosplay the spray does leave a residue initially but it goes away.

Looks great. Loved it in the mock up fabric too. Now need to find a pattern big enough and some purple fabric scissors :)

Your confidence in your skills has grown so much. I love watching your videos. This turned out amazing. I want one too. There's a person on TikTok that is currently deconstructing this dress. I can link if you want. (I don't like to link without permission) can't wait to see everything.

Aww thank you! I actually just saw the deep dive this morning, luckily all the information she's shared I already have since I've been able to discuss this gown with wardrobe people who got to work with it. The hard part is deciphering the photos but I think I'm doing a pretty good job.

You are adorable! I love your sense of humor. I am so glad I found you (on Costuming Drama's IG) this morning. I can't wait to go check out more of your work. The strapless bra/bustier/corset came out really lovely! I really enjoyed watching the process and learned a lot regarding what to consider ahead of time on a project like this. (Gearing up to make my first boned garment this year.) Thank you for sharing!

I love this!!! I plan on making quick change costumes if I will be doing a skit for a contest and I was going to do a quick change behind a wall or screen into another gown. Ive studied quick change costumes before and I know that they are literally just one big hook and one zipper which helps the actors change in around 40 seconds more or less and they are rigged to look structured.
@CaseyReneeCosplay3 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah Glindas Dre's has a quick change, she doesn't have any hooks but a separating zipper, a harness and snaps
@alaskacosplay3 жыл бұрын
Oh wow really? Didnt know that about Glinda’s dress. I know the Phantom of the Opera and King and I’s costumes are rigged with hooks or a massive hook and a separating zip which it takes 3 people to get into because its a quick change that happens off stage which I am really intrigued by because if I can change my outfit into another one in 40 seconds, I’ll probably lose myself.

You look beautiful in this it fits you so well. I love the fabric you used for the mock up, are you going to keep it as a corset? Never apologise for the noises your animals make. They are part of you life and we love sering them. X

Aww thank you! I'm not sure about the mock up fabric it's in my scraps pile right now.
