I did it! I made pumpkin candy apple for Halloween ... I only needed 6 so I have a lot of the mixture leftover. Can I re-heat to re-use? Your instructions made it easy, although my goo is a bit on the thick side. More water next time? But no bubbles! Thank you so much!!!

Congratulations! You can reheat it and make candy apples but it doesn't taste the same like the first batch because you're reheating it again and cooking it to 300 degrees again. Therefore your candy apples will taste burnt. I usually let mine get back to liquid form and let it cool off and pour it out. No don't add no more water. Your candy apple mixture is a bit on the thick side because you used too much gel food coloring. Use 1/2 teaspoon on each color. I hope this helps.

Traditionally how long does it take for the mixture to get to 300•? Do you cook on medium high?

From an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. You must have patience because your candy apples are going to come out perfect.
