In this video we are picking up from where we left off last year when we demoed different types of bale shears to see if anything could beat our trusty splitter for our setup. We also fitting an LED Light above our workshop bench in the hope of improving visuals as we tackle further projects.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching

In reference to Adrian GAA comment with the drone. To non Irish viewers, GAA is our native sport games, and Adrain reference of GAA is about the high ball skill in both Hurling , but in Adrain case Gaelic Football. Sad seeing the cows in early due to early onset of heavy rains this late Autumn. Grass is still growing, but ground is severely boggy.

Hi Adrian, we have that cashel bale shears over two years and seems to be bullet proof, we did add the two extra outer tines soon after we got it as it, makes it easier to push silage left and right. It's like using an implement that is too narrow for your tractor without them.

Hi Adrian, Im not sure if it could work but if you could mount your mchale bale spliter to the front loader it would suit your job better, and have a double bale carrier on the back for drawing home. Bale spliter works really well in your feed passage and saves all the pushing and pulling with the front loader to break up the bale. Really enjoy wathching your channel. thanks

I have a half wore out tanco bale shear and to tell the truth I reckon it took about two or three hundred bales to get reasonably good at it and now that I have done thousands and thousands of bales I can say I am not too bad at it, so expecting to be good with it after 10 or 12 bales is a bit hopeful but then again I am a cow man and machinery is only a unfortunate necessity to me.

Hello Adrian. I have a cashels bale splitter but it has 7 prongs. And I’m able to feed out the silage perfectly like it was fed with a diet feeder both sides In an 11 foot passage. A neighbor has a different model and the gripper isn’t able to grip the plastic on a frosty morning. I could send you a video of it working in the 11 foot passage if you want? You’ve a great channel 👍

Good to see Bailey and Hudson out checking you’re doing everything right ! Decent set of rams and metal thickness, made very well , just a thought Adrian, how about tilting grab back to cab first then slice bale, would all the net then be grabbed by the hooks . Great colour, did think you liked green ! 😜

When putting in bales into the tight passage. If u could cut half try push it sideways by catching 1 end with the grab and driving forward. Then once u have it sideways then push it forwards into the back wall. Then do the same with the other side should help reduce the amount of manual labour in piking it in

Hi Adrian 1 tip I learned from having one of these don’t put the prong through the plastic, keep prongs outside the plastic for splitting, as well the barrel wrap although more expensive is the only job for these machines saves having to separate the net, the nugent I have about 1 wheelbarrow of silage over the whole winter is all i have in the plastic pile, hope she’s lucky for you, try the nugent just to compare

I use a tanco bale slice on bales that have film instead of net wrap , I can cut bales and only hold on to a tiny bit is silage and if I get it right none at all , the most annoying thing is the tails of white wrap nearly always get cut leaving some wrap in the feed which you have to get off and pick out , apart from that I wouldn’t be without it loading bales into a king feeder as I do every day

Nice that your getting to trial farm equipment, suppliers must trust how you look after their kit and the feedback you give. In my workshop I have an LED light that I bought from IKEA, really cheap but does the job sometimes you just need that little bit of extra light. Your cows are looking grand, all seamed to be wanting to eat which is a good thing. 👍

You should make up 2 hydraulic adaptors, one male to male and one female to female. Saves changing the connectors on hoses which will eventually leak if you change too much. The ultimate connector is to have the same Faster connect that I have fitted. Makes life a lot easier.

Great work and nice light light brackets but..... youll need to put a board on to to store things cause you know it will probably happen.. 😮😊.. shear looks good but i can see why you like the rear slicer as it cuts the bales in the right directions for your passes... . Ih my drone came straight down from 250FT ... boom.. wireless signal from the house played the funny card with it... now another phantom home.. but might be the last.. stay safe sir 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

You should try splitting the bale closer to the feed bar then before you open to let off the second half hit the outside corner of the bale and it should spin in for you I have the tanco splitter on a similar size massey in a 12 foot passage and it works a treat

Did you say you were using hemorrhoid paint? If you did oh boy you have to explain that one!😂 To the best of my knowledge we don't have hemorrhoid paint across the pond! Lmao That bale mover thingy 😂 very interesting. It's only a good deal if you really need it and will always use it. Try opening the bale out of the shed away from the cows then take in the pieces and put them where you want. Also if you get it it will be great to see your changes. Also it looks like it's the wrong color to match the tractor.

Poor form by Clarkes letting a brand new machine out on demo and not having everything 100% right on it. I know it's only a couple of loose pipes but anyone buying a brand new machine should be receiving it 100% right and ready. I find with them flatter wet bales Adrian if you roll them slightly with the bale splitter just before you pick up the bale your able to get more of it in the grab, catching more plastic and splitting the bale more even. As for the net, sometimes I think you can be just unlucky as to where you catch and cut the net. I think sometimes you can just leave a bit of net as that where it happens to unroll. Another great video by the way.
