Back around 2000 or so, I gave my folks a 3 pound (48 ounce---not this 39 ounce or less reduced size the coffee companies make now) can full of Bicentennial quarters as a gift. It came out to exactly $600.

@@toplinethriftfind Probably took a couple years, just was curious to see what was circulating at the time and separated them from the older clad quarters (1965-1998) coinage that circulated at the time. Since the 1980s, I seldom use anything under a $5 bill. Inflation has made money worth less and less. I simply throw my $1 and $2 (if I encounter any) bills and all my change in a container and perhaps once or twice a year (depending upon the amount) take it all to the bank like you do and deposit the money for reuse.
