Wait - the third bedroom is accessed through the second bedroom? What insanity!! The view is a bunch of strangers' windows. New York city - what a crazy place! A dungeon rents for $7000+. I'm agog.

@humboldt 🐻 bear : cash Jordan is fun & absolutely nerdy😊cute .The NYC apts he shows are always interesting. I lived in Manhattan ("the city") many yrs ago when apts were actually, unbelievably, cheap--affordable. Moved to one of the outer boroughs yrs ago, stayed put, traveled Europe alot, still stayed put &after divorce, bought myself & 5yr old son a modest, cozy1600 sq ft, 2 bdrm, 2 level waterfront bungalow w/a deck & patio facing water. It's not an apartment, its a stand-alone structure on co-op owned land. Monthly mtge,co-op fee & real estate tax = $917.00. I still love Manhattan after all the yrs but it's only 20-40 mins away by car depending on distance to travel. Cant afford to live there now & wouldn't pay insanely hi rent for an acceptably "cool" apt NOR would I pay a low rent to live in a closet. Unfortunately, rents in the outer boroughs became ridiculously hi, pre-covid.Don't know how pple afford them😕, especially since covid & inflation on EVERYTHING. Just content & grateful to have my own little piece of heaven where i was able to raise a kid safely. BTW, HumboldtBear, are you in Mendocino Cnty (green triangle?). Would love to see that part of the states one of these days. Peace out✌️ & "Live, from NYC"!

I'm Scottish, and I thought our prices were crazy! I just checked the price for 3 bedroom apartments in our capital city of Edinburgh, and it works out to be about 1/3 of the price of these, and Edinburgh is considered very expensive. I suppose most people in New York live a long way out of the city and spend hours commuting. They do look nice though, and seem to be a lot more spacious than I would expect for a city centre.

@@baumwolke2078Yes it is. I’m born and raised in Brooklyn, and would never move back to the city (Manhattan) because I can’t afford it. I once lived in a studio in the upper east side with my boyfriend. We paid $2100 monthly for one big room. Now we live in a beautiful Pre-War one bedroom in Brooklyn for under $1800. It's always interesting/fun to explore these apartments, and Cash and Charles are very watchable hosts. I chuckle when Cash says 'free AC' - wait until the utility bill comes. And though the necessity of it is obvious, the idea of having multiple roommates that always worried me is that life is unpredictable: an unexpected job offer in another city or state, a health issue, a sudden family emergency back home - it seems that with 3 or more roommates especially, you would be in the situation of regularly having to find someone new who is compatible. Maybe it's easier in your 20s? I can't remember that far back.

Well, Alex redeemed himself with those first three listings! However, in that second unit of his... what was that in the corner with black cabinets? I've NEVER seen such a large microwave like that! That ground floor unit was GORGEOUS! Charles listings were better though (of course they are) because of the amount of space and storage, plus the full-sized appliances, that you get for your money. Charles' building had the BEST laundry facility that I have ever seen on this channel! The only thing missing was the folding tables. But having a bathroom in the laundry facility is a nice compensation.

I miss radiant heat so much. I was used to living in houses from the 20s & 30s. I got an awesome deal on a rambler walkout that allows me to have a roommate that I never have to see. If only I could have my radiant heat back!

The first one with Charles, where cash is saying it could be a bedroom if you lie down diagonally … If you take from Korean or Japan beddings, you can actually have like a roll up mat, you know, those mattresses were they only lay it down on the floor when they’re sleeping and then in the morning they fold up the bedding and place it in the closet and that’s how they utilize their space

Hey Cash, I just found your channel by accident. Very cool videos, I've only watched a few so far. I do like the interaction between you and Hannibal Buress AKA Charles. You guys are funny. Thanks for creating cool content.

"Hold on to your wallet because these are gonna be expensive." Soon as you said that, I immediately knew Charles was going to be in this video!

The Upper West Side has a lot of illegal basement rooms/apartments. On 173rd St., I know of a building super who rented a couple of units that were unregistered. Interestingly enough, the management co was informed, but the super was not fired--I am sure the building tenants (owners) were never told.
