Hey, I agree. Years ago they had those guards there in NYC for about three weeks, then all of a sudden you didn't hear about them anymore. People should take a look at the actual MTA subway map to see how massive the system is. @@47thofficers22 In similar cases that has and are happening in South America, it has been proven time and time again that deploying soldiers in the streets don't solve anything especially if they would just stand there looking menacing without doing much more. If the institutions at all state levels aren't able to coordinate their efforts to persecute and disarticulate these highly organized criminal groups a superficial show of force won't solve anything not even increase the general security because the criminals will just do their crimes a few squares away from the military patrols.

As a current NYC transit police officer, I feel deploying national guards, state troopers and MTA police on those selective subway station is only for 'SHOW' and nothing but a political tactic for upcoming election. Just go to the 'hood' stations where real crime is happening these days..I guarantee you that you will not find a single armed national guard or state troopers there to deter crimes. Real criminals do not possess weapons in their carry-ons and back pack- they are all hidden close to their body, which police can not search without probable cause. Heck, searching random people's belonging is a violation of 4th amendment in first place. Just look at MTA PD selects who they search the bags- old 60yr old ladies or clueless tourists which will obviously obey the rules. Try to perform the bag checks where real criminals hang out. You will quickly learn how many people will curse you out/scream racism and would try to fight you for stopping. And even if you are denied entry due to refusing the bag check, you can simply just go to the other end of station and jump the turnstile. It's a complete joke. It is just sad to watch what this city has become and will continue to rot with this laughable liberal policies.

@KonglomeratYT10 ай бұрын
From my observation, Democrats tend to prefer the feelings of others rather than their lives, or status. So long as everyone "feels" good and inclusive, it doesn't really matter if there's violent crime, wealth equality, or anything beneficial. It's about subjective appearance to them, and not objective realities. That's just observation though. They don't explain it as anything other than "You must be a racist right-wing nazi" when I try to learn about their priorities.

You know why this deployment will be ineffective? They deployed the national guard to WRONG borough of NYC. Manhattan really? Where all the tourist visit? are you kidding me? How about the 4 line Bronx bound train, where an unknown person open fired into a crowded subway at the Mt Eden stop a couple weeks ago? How about the A line northbound train where a man gets into a fight, stabbed by another person then gets shot in the head by his OWN gun around the time this video was published? Brooklyn and especially The Bronx make news headlines daily and you deployed every law enforcement agency known to man to one of the safest parts of NYC? that makes sense.

Because the New Yorkers (I have lived there for a few months on a network migration admin contract, so I got to see this a lot firsthand) have seen so much crap that they aren't bothered by just about anything. They ignore it and go about their business, At the same time, by stripping them of all their rights as citizens against undue search and seizure etc... they can keep the locals in line, as it were, by showing them visibly how little control they actually have when up against the government. It would not have the desired positive effect if spread evenly. However... in a tourist-focused area? They want happy, positive blogs and tik tok videos where they rave about how safe it is, rather than the opposite. Tourists often will read/watch news about all the crimes in an area before visiting, so this would reassure them, resulting in good PR when they tell their friends and family about it afterwards. It makes the most sense to place it there if that's the true purpose. Edit: Oh, and there's also the well-documented statistic that tourists ARE more likely to be robbed with a weapon of some sort, simply because they are tourists, therefore just rode in on a plane, and thus the aggressors know they don't have any weapons to defend themselves, on top of the confusion of being in a new country which causes constant distractions about what the laws regarding this situation might be there, as your mind tries to process everything around you (I can imagine coming to NYC if it was my first huge city, and I had never ridden a subway before. It would have been pretty intense, I feel) and the potential language barrier that may exist. It's a lot of factors that raise the risk, so I guess that argument could also be made for a reason to place them there. More likely victims? More security. *shrug*

I’m in “poor-assed” Cairo. Crime in Subway? Costs 7 Egyptian Pounds (14 cents) Cairo Transit workers check entry and tickets (and Exits need tickets to get out) women have own 2 cars in center of train. Nobody ever lets me stand long (I got grey beard) more seat offers in one day than NYC TA in years. Police chill at every entrance with scanner(I never seen in use). Rug covered rooms in stations for workers and police to do salat. Crowded? Yes but chill and well maintained and clean.(Transit workers scrubbing walls with rags!) That’s what happens when infrastructure is funded and social networks haven’t been deliberately destroyed as in NYC…

Yes but here we have men in womens places and our government on all levels love to act like the problem is always too big to solve. The only way to ever solve a problem is to sink a ton of money in it to never fix it. Ex... our border wall. Egypt has a really nice one. We don't.

Hi, my name is Ivan, i live in Moscow, Russia. Major city with the biggest subway system in Europe. Here we have X-Ray machines and random bag search system to prevent anything bad getting in the subway. If you are carrying in a legaly owned gun and law enforcement find that you will go through the system marking that presence on you, so if you will try to do any kind of robbery with it surveillance cameras will capture that and you will be caught at the same day. Same goes to knifes. We have very low crime rate in the Subways, because we have specialised patrol force called rosgvardia riding on the trains and checking on random people. It is impossible to commit something bad here and get away.
