Regarding your combo washer dryer, before you dry the clothes, take them out, shake them and put them back in the dryer and they’ll dry a lot better. My mother taught me that many years ago and it works. Try it and let me know. 😆 My mom was a home economics teacher at PS 164 in Washington Heights.

Why not just go to a laundromat?

That's a combi boiler above the washing machine, Cash. Heats the radiators in the rooms and also hot water on demand. Most houses in the UK have them, I guess they're less common over in the US.

Everyone is talking about the UNBELIEVABLE increase in the price of NYC rentals ......the fact is that landlords have absolutely ZERO incentive to reduce these prices - ppl WILL pay it, period.

I wish I knew where that 1 bedroom apartment was other than "in Manhattan." Manhattan is a big borough with lots of very different neighborhoods. The really nice apartments Charles had were in East Harlem. True to form, it seems like the nicest apartments are in the scariest neighborhoods.

@figmo397. My son & his gf just moved from East Harlem to Kips Bay (way more “residential” area ...plus he can afford it now😆🤩) The old apt was in an OK area- not the best, but not the worst by any means. Thing is : that EH apt was A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! Super modern, washer/dryer IN unit, & RELATIVELY affordable👍 (No doorman or elevator like Kips Bay apt thou🤣😂😭)

Doors on washers and dryers are able to be directionally changed. I changed my dryer door back in the summer.

1st uni...The dryer wouldn't open the other way because of the angle wall. Both units...washing machine is next to the sink so it can ďrain.

Manhattan is too overpriced for the tinyest apartments and no space in the closets. Those rents forces you to have to live with people you don't really know. In this day and age who wants to live with all of those roommates in and out of the apartment! People have issues and I would not be able to sleep at night knowing this. To live by yourself paying all of that money is ridiculous when you can purchase a home.. But I get it...the owners are making a killing off renters who are desperate to live in the city!

@@653j521What does your comment have to do with me supporting Cash? This is mine and quite a few others opinion. I just don't remember things being this crazy back in the 80s and 90s, but then again Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx weren't back in the day.

Combo washer/dryers will dry better if after the wash is done, you run it for an additional spin cycle

You hire a hoist or a crane to lift furniture up and over onto the roof top, with the five bedroom with only three or two or whatever it was.

Wow, watching this channel is such an interesting anthropological experience. Knowing there are people who actually pay a fortune to live so badly. NYC must be really irresistible.
