@@HABIBIBROTHERS717 Uthman leaves out the part where if you don't pay the jizyah you have 2 choices convert or die. And maybe if they are really merciful, they'll just throw you out of the land. Uthman also claims the tax is low compared to what Muslims pay, this is not true. Wikipedia says The rate of jizya and Kharaj tax, head tax and land tax respectively, exceeded 20% for all non-Muslims, and payable by new moon. In the western Islamic states, for dhimmis who were Christians and Jews of Egypt and Morocco, these taxes were often graded into three levels with minimum rate being 20% of all estimated assets and any sales. The highest rates ranged from 33% to 80% of all annual farm produce on land inside the Islamic empire. In the eastern Islamic states, for dhimmis who were Hindus and Jains, the tax structure were similar, with non-Muslims paying jizya and Kharaj tax rate at least twice the zakat tax rate paid by Muslims. The discriminatory and high tax rates led to mass civil protests of 1679 in India, these protests were crushed by Aurangzeb.

Would love to see you guys spend more time at the end of movies discussing your thoughts and theories a bit longer. Or telling stories the movies reminded you of or people it reminded you of or lessons you might have learned. Or what theories you may hold about the movie or maybe you guys could spend a little time at the end looking into the making of the movie or the history of it over all. Just an idea. I really like your content guys this is my favorite reaction channel on youtube it would just be nice if the videos didn't end so suddenly :) either way I will still be here for whatever content you share in the future. The best part of Casino is that the “Inspired by true events” isn’t for nothing. From big things like the Strip being owned, run, and even built by the Mob, the heads being so old the need nurses at their court hearing and the strip being torn down after the mob got busted, literally stealing money from the count rooms, to the small things like the FBI plane making a forced landing, Lefty’s (Ace’s character) being supernatural at sports betting, Pesci’s character being short and ill tempered, the vice scene, etc. It all actually happened. And only some minor details were altered. History is crazy sometimes. “We have the same here.” It’s strangle reassuring to hear that greed and corruption aren’t exclusive to the US. I don’t know why.

This movie is a great example of a very very smart man making some very foolish choices when it comes to a woman. If he hadn't wasted his time with Ginger and instead found a good woman who would stand by him & be faithful, his life would have been a lot better. He could have been a king if he had a queen but he had trash instead. She made a fool of him (and traumatized their child!!!) over and over and he just let it happen. I lived in Vegas for 10 years. I could count a six deck shoe and made some money for a short time. It was a miserable way to make money. I was playing back in the late 1990's before they changed the payout amount so card counting now really doesn't work anymore. The card counting wasn't that hard but you also had to play PERFECT basic strategy too. What got old quick was the noise, the smoke and cocktail waitresses always asking you if I needed anything. Sometimes hours without an opportunity to play anymore then the table minimum can drive you crazy. Anyway, I have a hundred fun Vegas stories from my time there and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. Crazy place but in small doses very fun!

Crazy take seeing as it's not really a Mafia movie and more of an Organized Crime movie. The main character is Jewish and the Chicago Mafia ties makes it even muddier as the Chicago Outfit was less ritualized and arguably "farther" from the Sicilian Mafia than the New Yorkers, especially in the 80's.

Prohibition (banning alcohol) began in 1919 and was repealed in 1933, mainly because of the large amount of illegal alcohol trafficking and the crime it created. Al Capone was the biggest and best-known gangster during that period. "The Untouchables" is another gangster movie you might want to check out, Robert DeNiro (Nicky) plays Capone. In the Bible divorce is allowed for adultery, also if a believer is married to an unbeliever, and the unbeliever wants out of the marriage, it is also allowed. In the Old Testament God states that He hates divorce because it's cruel to the wife and He warns to be faithful, and Jesus said that divorce is not God's way, that those whom God has joined together, no one should separate. Divorce itself is not called a sin, but Jesus taught that if a divorced person marries another they are guilty of adultery.

Guys, thank you so much for "Casino". It's another Scorcese masterpiece. Although it continues in the "gangster" genre, it tells a different story. Las Vegas was invented by the Mafia after Cuba was off limits, as depicted in "The Godfather". By the 70's, the mob began losing control....over politicians, and themselves . It had to end, but was torn down and resurrected (by questionable investors) and emerged as a "family-friendly" resort that resembled a theme park. The truth is, it's still a magnet for gambling addicts from every strata of society, including organized crime. It's a story about corruption, a place in time, gambling addiction, and the fact that some things never change. Sharon Stone won an Oscar for best actress. Entire cast is perfect and so is the use of music. Exceptional score. I never steer you wrong! Great reaction, I knew you'd love it.

Las Vegas was not created by the mafia, a common misconception. In 1931 in an effort to lessen the effect of the worldwide economic depression. Nevada re-legalzed gambling in 1931. Up until then it's major business was a watering stop and maintenence point for railroad trains. The first Major Casino on the strip was actually built by the former chief of police of Las Angeles in the 1940's.

Something that's not readily known especially outside the states is that organized crime in America was started by the Jewish mafia especially in Old Las Vegas. The Italian mob was secondary to the Jewish mob. They have always been linked. That's why one always sees Jewish gangsters in all the mafia movies. In fact the Italian roles in American organized crime was often exaggerated so as not to bring scrutiny on legitimate American Jews.

This is inaccurate. Organized crime by legal definition has been happening since before that in the US. Primarily from English(American) and Irish gangs aligning with politicians. The Jewish gangs, beginning with Arnold Rothstein and later, Meyer Lansky converted it into a sweet science and looked at corporate power while the Sicilians(and southern Italians) expanded reach, manpower, the gangster mythos, neighborhood domination, and relative unification under Luciano and later, Albert Anastasia. Don't forget, Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky were childhood homeboys who came up in this stuff together. And together they reshaped the landscape by creating the National Crime Syndicate. Before then it was more similar to ethnic gangs with La Cosa Nostra arguably being the more ritualized group and the Jewish gangs functioning primarily in the Jewish neighborhoods

@@thedappermagician6905hmmm no offense but I think you are falling for a lot of the propaganda put out by a group that I won't name. We that live here in Nevada know the whole story of who initially built, financed and majority controlled Las Vegas.

You can divorce if your spouse commits adultery. The divorce rate is 50%, what does that tell you?? 😂 they aren’t all committing adultery.

Did Ginger die of a drug overdose? Talk about a living hell. Are there really people like this? Are there people who do things like this? I guess I'm naive. BTW, they use an excerpt of Bach's St. Matthew Passion towards the end (and also near the beginning) of the movie. It was probably the last thing I would have expected in this soundtrack. Beautiful piece.

They gave Ginger what's known as a "hot dose" which is where you purposely sell or give someone 100% pure heroin, so yes she did overdose but it was not on accident.

Scorcese like to use non actors in his movies. The guy with the thick black glassses that tells Ginger "to get lost" is a famous Las Vegas local an Iranian immigrant that built a bery successful luxury clothing store for men inside Ceasar's Palace.

You can divorce in Christianity. Maybe not with Catholics marriages but with Protestant marriages you can. It's not considered a sin. But you are right when you said that women gets basically half of a man's worth if they divorce in U.S. if not more when you include child support and alimony. Thats why you have to get a prenup before marriage.

Prenups are very shaky in US courts, and are not even valid in some states.

You can in Catholicism (depending on your culture) but it is certainly significantly harder than Protestantism
