That was deliberate. The trailer was selling the film on it's high level of faithfulness to the novel, so showing it was actually an adaptation with the major plot points wasn't a bad idea.

All of us were thinking that he would a really bad Bond at first, but we were proved wrong and Craig was extremely the greatest Bond since Sean Connery, of course Connery is still the best bond ever. Can’t wait to see him as 007 again in No Time to Die!

It's still subjective. Of course Connery is the number one for me, but I prefer Dalton over Craig. The only objectively bad Bonds are George Lazenby (not an actor) and Pierce Brosnan (a joke).

The reason this trailer gives away most of the plot is because Bond fans were concerned the film producers were going to do the usual "adaptation in name only" bullshit. The producers used this trailer to hype up the faithfulness to the Fleming novel and get the old school fans hyper excited their favourite Bond novel was being adapted faithfully.
