The one thing that surprised me about the digital classic screen layer, was that it has no controllable functionality. When in timepeice mode (super powersaving mode) you cannot interact with the watch like you would a classic Casio, no beeps no alarm function no stopwatch or countdown timer. None of the buttons work, it simply displays the time and date.

Good point! If they managed to keep standard G-Shock features for Timepiece, that would have been great!

Can you use the touch screen under water? Can it have a battery replacement in years to come? How accurate is the altimeter? What colours can you make the watch face? Do you know if the gps is always on like a phone but not tracking your distance? Do you know what the glass is made of?

i really want casio to make this without the Android aspect, and with a much more robust conventional G-Shock aspect. The watch looks absolutely amazing and the LCD is super sharp, but I don't want the hassle of a smartwatch. One of the reasons I go back to G-Shocks over my Apple Watches is that they require essentially no intervention from me, no charging, no software updates etc.

Thanks for the video. How long does the watch take to lock on to GPS when starting an activity? I know several folks raised that as an issue for the GBD H1000. Secondly, if you use varied workouts such as cycling, running etc. does it give you a running VO2 max and a cycling VO2 max separately?

You dont have to wait for the GPS to fix before you start tracking, you can skip ahead to the countdown and it will do it in the background.

I am surprised how boring they had designed the tide graph. The tide graph on my Frogman watch looks way better with the moon phase on top. Given Wear OS capabilities they should put some effort in making it look pretty. Do this watch have a storm/weather alarm?

The watch itself doesnt have speaker, but you can get call notifications. Other notifications works just like Standard WearOS. As for music storage, i havent tried that. Let me see if Spotify is able to download offline playlist n update here

hi, I don't see "g shock move app" logo in my watch (gsw h 1000, black) can you help me ? can't connect with mobile app. Does the logo (in your video 2:47) appear when you connect the phone to the watch or even without the app on the phone, you can see it in the app menu on the watch?

I faced this issues once before. Try to restart your watch and see if it works. Make sure watch is fully charged. If that doesn't work, imho you need to reset the watch.

Hey, let me answer 2 of the questions first. GPS will be on when you are doing activities that require location (e.g. Running), apart from that, it can also get location info while connected to your smartphone. It has mineral glass with anti-dirt coating.

I have only tested on Android, and it does show all the text messages, emails on the watch. Standard WearOS feature. I will try to see if it behaves the same way on iOS.

@@Gsyoku much appreciate it! I just ordered this watch and wanted to make sure it works flawlessly with iPhones. I think most Android watches work well with them but I think the only thing is you cannot reply text messages when connected to iPhones as you can with Android using the watch. But please let me know if you can test it in iOS and if it works well.

You can set the top portion of the screen to show sun rise n sun set. The bottom portion shows high tide and low tide time along with the graph. At the centre it shows moon phase. Moon age is missing though.

@@Gsyoku I was hoping to have something like the tide and phase barometric pressure along with heartbeat and whatnot. but i'd hope they make like a simulator version you can tinker with on a phone before I customize it. and send it to the watch. maybe the demos up since the phones been released? most of them are avaiable on the app

Any difference between the one sold to Americans vs the JDM one you know of? I know sometimes Japanese one is made there vs Thailand or elsewhere, and perhaps time keeping is more accurate in some watches (higher standards). The ones I've seen for sale on internet intended for North America read Made in Japan. So maybe they're the same? I've paid more for JDM before (ie seikos) but wasn't sure this time.

I didn't see the light work in timepiece mode, even though I watched twice.

You can see it at 9:20. I should have turned up the ISO higher for clearer view. Its not very bright but in total darkness, you can use it to read the time with ease.

It is strange that there seems to be impossible to get a thermometer in a Wear OS watch to my knowledge one such device do not exist. It is a mystery to me how a altimeter/barometer function is supposed to work correctly and be accurate without thermometer data since the conversion table between barometric pressure and altitude requires temperature data for accuracy. It would be interesting if Gsyoku could perhaps try to install the thermometer app from the Google Play store and see if it can detect the presence of a hidden thermometer in the watch?
