The DW 290 watch is aboslutely great! This should be called the Monster Casio watch. I had my first one 21 years ago as a present, being exposed to a various tough conditions during these years and it is still ticking with only minor scratches on the screen, two battery replacements and two strap replacements! Just purchased my second one after finding it is still being produced by Casio. Excellent timepiece / masterpiece and a great review of it. Thanks!

Do you find the electro luminescence backlight to be of same color and intensity? I see mine as a darker shade of blue while the newer ones have a hint of green

i just found mine lost in a box 20 minutes ago, put in new battery and still works! 30 years old! 2 things though.. 1 doesn't have a strap, what size strap it requires? 2 the bottom right screw free threads.. it's in place but doesn't stop screwing. Any recommendations on how to fix this?

How do I invert day and months? (so that day is displayed on left and months on right) I am in UK. We usually write day, months, year... Apart from that and the green writing "Illuminator water resistant 200m..." rubbing off within a months no issues with the watch.

Not possible for this watch. It is possible on the newish GWM5610U and some other 5000/5600 series squares such as the Bluetooth GWB5600. 😊

I have an older DW-290 (the 1219 module) and the calendar only lasts until 2029.

No worries, after that you just Google repeated years for 2030 and you put whatever is offered between 1995 and 2029 and I think the calendar should then be correct for another 7 years
