Great video, thanks! I do have a few questions. 1. Can you explain further why you did the AC reset? Did replacing the battery mess with the watch that then requires you to reset it? 2. Is it necessary to complete the AC reset step? What happens if you don't? Thank you!

The AC reset helps with any “memory” effect in the LCD displays. AC in watch terms stands for “All Clear”. Most quartz analogue only watches don’t have an AC reset feature. But with a watch that has any digital display, it’s worth the 10 seconds it takes to conduct the procedure.

SW and W are low drain and high drain. In a watch, in most cases the difference is negligible. You’ll only really notice it if you’re constantly playing with a watches backlight if it has one. As for the AC, it’s usually very clearly marked and also in some cases has an arrow pointing to it.

Just had my baby g battery replacement in a service center a month ago and now its drained already. I just bought it last year. Is something needs to be repaired?

Either the battery was not very new, even if it was new in the package, and it had been sitting around for years, or the wrong battery has been fitted. The battery could also have been fitted poorly or perhaps left with finger prints and is causing some connection issue. If it’s been a year already, it could be that perhaps the functions of the watch were used more often than prior to the change. Things like the light and usage of the stopwatch, alarms, and so on can affect the battery life.

No need to apologise. The grease is silicon grease. You can buy them on eBay with the plastic container and sponger inside and in the lid already impregnated with the grease. They’re like $5-10 depending on currency. Makes like super easy to ensure a good seal. It also helps clean the gasket if you’re reusing it. I do this on every watch I service.

Hi, I did the AC reset, and I can't seem to get it out of timekeeping mode. None of the buttons work. Just wondering if you had any tips or tricks?

Perhaps the module has shifted in the case and the buttons are not aligned anymore. It might be worth checking that they are.

@@whatsstefon can you please guide how to align? I took the module out and use bare hand to press on each buttons' spring and they are not responding though, I just replaced the battery and did the AC reset, but none of the buttons work. But the counter is working and it shifts every minute.

@@kcong4958 you will have to carefully press the springs on the inside where the buttons are on the module. It sounds like the module has moved. But it’s no seated correctly

@@whatsstefon my model is BA-110CA, it has a hexagon shaped module and I don't think it will get misaligned? I took out the entire module, even with direct pressing on the module spring leads to no responses, appreciate if you can please assist 😔

The module itself won’t get misaligned. But if the module moved out of place at all, the spring buttons inside on the actual module may not be sitting in place correctly. But you are saying that those buttons don’t work either. Perhaps you need to do an AC reset? Or try removing the battery, refitting it, and doing an AC Reset again.

The watch takes SR726SW. CR batteries are completely different in voltage, chemistry and size.

One minute with a q-tip would have cleaned around the seal on the back.

We don’t use q-tips in Watchmaking. They will leave fibres behind which can enter the movement or stick to the silicon grease on the gaskets and completely negate the water resistance, allowing dirt and moisture to enter the watch. The watch was later manually cleaned using pegwood, and put through ultrasonic cleaning to remove build up dirt.

Great question. The “W” usually means low drain and the “SW” means high drain. You want SW for a watch like this.
