Great review! Thanks for all the info! I think it's kind of funny that the numbers on the smaller watches are the same or slightly larger sizes than the GX56. I was hoping that the display would larger and display larger characters.

Can you compare the king gshock with the new mudmaster? I think the mudmaster is bigger and tougher, i maybe wrong though

I have never really understood why people would buy this behemoth, especially since most people could rarely break other G-Shock models. Each to their own, but I don't know if I'll ever get it. The only square-shaped G I personally like is the 5000 and 5600 in the normal size format. Thanks for reviewing it nonetheless.

@@DougFNJ hello my friend... I bought two protrek 6600 one exactly like yours in your video the navy blue and another in black with green second hand.... Both looked stunning so bought both and then a protrek prg-600..... So I have three in total now unbelievable quality for such prices..... Now I'm after more square G shocks I have a 5610 solar with multiband 6..... Never liked g shocks until I saw the small square ones.... Love them....I can't believe I've never seen them before...casio do zero marketing or seems here in the UK

This a great video. I have the Gold version. This G-Shock is tough watch. It's big and bold. All though it fits well on the wrist. I still will get my 5600-C screw back. oh yes I will.

Hi, how easy/hard are the buttons to push? I am considering one of these watches but I have had digital watches before that were very annoying when it came to using the stopwatch function. I am going to be using the stopwatch function a lot and the ergonomics of the buttons are very important. Thanks for your help

Doug - Have you seen the Casio G-Shock GXW-56, which I think is the Japanese version of the GX56. It has the Atomic time updating feature which the US version lacks. I wish I could get my hands on the Casio G-Shock GXW-56 without going to Japan to buy it. Thanks for the excellent reviews. I think your review has convinced me to buy a G-Shock GW3000B-1A since I can't get a GXW-56 in the US.

Quite big, but honestly it looks a little bit too much of a "toy", just my feeling. I love Casio watches tho, but in this case (talking about the square series) I think that the regular 5600 is already the best in the biz (I like the one with negative display), literally unkillable watch.

This guy usually does better reviews than this. I'm interested in getting this watch but there wasn't as much detail here as his usual ones. No mention of what the lume looks like.. No mention of the glass thickness.. Is it flat glass, single domed, double domed, crystal.. ?? .. Would have been good to give us some actual measurements of it's size instead of just repeating that it's big. What kind of battery does it use? What is Casio's projection on the battery life with normal use? .. How about a ballpark idea of the MSRP? .. A closeup of the clasp would have been helpful too.

That big and no time in all modes. Sometimes Casio gets a real running start before they kick their customers in the nuts. Why on Earth would I want to look at my TMR mode and see time remaining and the original time I set it for? I really try to fantasize about why I might want to see it and I come up with nothing. Do I need to know that I have 3:10 remaining of an eight hour shift? Why, Casio? Why!?!?!?!?!?

yeah it says water resistant, not waterproof. They should have survived. Either that or they're fake. I repeatedly bash mine against my desk and nothing happens. The panel on the screen hasn't even scratched. These watches are built to be abused.
