It looked fine with the silicone strap and the mod case. Thanks for the heroic effort. I would have lost all the springbars just getting them out of the bag. Cheers! David

Well, I was happy to find the one I launched. It bounced back to me luckily.

I went out and bought normal 16mm spring bars they’ll fit. You just have to use a smaller spring bar tool to get them in but it’ll work. I had the same spring bar issue with the ones they sent.

Good to know that I was not the only one with this issue.

I had to file one bracelet end (filed material off the unseen surface that contacts the inside of the plastic watch case) to achieve a good fit. I used the supplied quick release spring bars.

I might have to do that so it fits the case better. It is a little too loose now for my preferences.

I bought the bezel kit only, and I think I'm happier without the bracelet. At the same time I ordered the bezel kit, I also ordered a brand new Casio OE resin band to start fresh with both. To me, the bracelet kit adds too much bling, plus I've heard for most people that wear their watches snug, as I do, that the first link in the bracelet doesn't have any articulation, and because of that, the watch is uncomfortable because there isn't any downward turn to it. People that wear their watches loose shouldn't have the comfort problem though. Personally, I like the way mine turned out, the same steel housing, with a black OE band. It felt a little heavier for the first couple minutes, but after that I really couldn't feel the difference anymore. The only other thing I did was swap out the original 3229 module for the 3229 (2) that comes in the DW-5610SU-8DR model. I already had a DW-5600E-1VCT, plus I bought another 5600, but the eBay seller put his 5610 module in a 5600 housing and put it up for sale because he was having trouble reading the negative display in low light. Basically I bought it for the module only because the crystal had a pretty good scratch and the band was kind of scuffed up too, but I knew all this going in. To me, it's easier seeing the numbers on the 5610, just because they're bolder. I guess basically, I now have a DW5610, just in a slightly smaller housing with a larger bezel, and aside from the negative display and the boldness of the fonts, I really can't see any other differences, if there even are any notable differences between the 3229 and the 3229 (2) modules. I've been going back and forth on ordering the steel bracelet, but so far I've been successful in talking myself out of it. Not worth it for me to spend $35 on a band that I'm most likely never going to use. Ever. Just my two cents worth, but I've never really been a fan of shiny, at least not a lot of it, and I really do think that just swapping out the bezel is enough for these, and even that could have been toned down just a shade just because of the fact that it is thicker and therefore makes the watch slightly larger. Bad news for those of us who like BullBars, but I guess that's the price we pay sometimes.

I have since taken the bracelet off the case. I could not get it to fit properly, and yes, it made the watch too big for ne. I have mixed feelings on the metal case with the resin band. The resin band is not all that comfortable for me. I would like to tey a combi bracelet or NATO strap next.

Nice work with the video, I actually really like the half metal look with just the case. I wonder if they sent the incorrect spring bars which is why they didn't fit right?
@WrongTimeWatch4 жыл бұрын
The springboard fit well in the bracelet, and they fit in the case without the bracelet. I think the bracelet endlink is just a bit too long to properly fit the case. Also, thank you for the compliment. I may contact the seller and see if they can give me a refund just for the bracelet, and keep the case.

Oh man, sorry to see that. Billy Bob in our patreon Discord group may have some recommendations. I take him all my G-Shock questions. Otherwise, hopefully the seller replaces it with a kit that works. I have a few of these incoming, so I can let you know what kind of luck I have whenever they arrive.

That's frustrating. Would a standard Springbar work instead of quick release.
@WrongTimeWatch4 жыл бұрын
The standard spring bar is too thick to fit in the bracelet.

Wondering if you ordered for the 5600 or for the 5610?

I ordered the 5600 kit. I think the only difference is larger cutouts for the larger buttons.

@@WrongTimeWatch asked because I had the same problem trying to fit GA2100 strap -that in theory works for 5600- into my 5610
@calvinchung11954 жыл бұрын
so if you put in the bracelet without any spring bar and shine a light, you can see how far off the hole is. I had the same issue. You can either use a spring retractor tool to push the difference over ( which isnt ideal) - or you can dremel some of the metal so the tolerances are better. Also not ideal of course.
@WrongTimeWatch4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion. I will have to take it apart and play around with it some more.

I had the same problem fitting the springbars . Eventually got them in . For such a simple task it just wouldn't go in .

I might play around with it some more again to see if I can get it to fit better.

Pull out the files and start removing material. Remove material where you wont see it. We call that a custom fit😎
@WrongTimeWatch4 жыл бұрын
I have some narrower spring bars that I will try first. However, do I remove material from the band or the plastic case?
@drvn2win6714 жыл бұрын
I'd go with removing material from the shoulder of the bracelet. Of course tape it up and remove alittle test fit and so on. Id be hesitant to remove material from the watch.
