Are you referring to a different carbon fiber watch? The earliest version of this watch and this strap came out in 2010: GW-S5600-1 GW-S5600B-1

got mine a week ago. the buckle on the strap is also titanium. they really went all out with this watch, not just the caseback! very nice carbon fiber too, not some cheap-looking layer or feel. the texture on the back is nice and soft, better/less clammy feeling than a standard casio resin strap's back.

My collection is mainly Casio. 2 databanks, a gold A168, 2 6900 models (the basic and ms model), 2 GA-100s, and 5 5600 models. Two of my 5600s are the GW-S5600, and the much harder to find GW-S5600-B. I love these carbon squares. Super light, incredible specifications.

That looks like a 2016 model judging by the lot number. I have one from 2010, and it's exactly the same. This is a very unique watch that seems to hit a lot of the right spots. In fact, this is what I wear as my dress watch. Are you also getting a gap on the sides between the bezel and case? I'm wondering if this is normal, and how bad it gets before I order a replacement. Great review. I am fortunate to own a couple of nice watches and now have now added 2 G-Shock squares a GW-5000 and a G-5600E. After this review I think I may find myself looking at another g-Shock!

Do you also work in radio/tv? You have the pipes for that work. BTW, I have one G Shock--an MT-G M900DA all stainless steel model that I put in rotation with my Seikos and Citizens.

That carbon V is a beauty but I was at Walmart today and that $48 watch that particular watch I know it doesn't have a lot of functions but it's a very cool looking watch for some reason

That $48 dollar G Shock is the best watch you can buy for the money. It is a classic and many people who have rolex, omega, and other high end watches also have that $48 square g shock in their collection because it is as legendary and respected as those very expensive watches. Go and get that $48 g shock you will not regret it you can get the carbon fiber one later if you still want it but if all you need is one great beater watch the cheap square g shock is the best option by far.

This is a, made in Thailand, Japan Domestic Market (JDM) only, G-Shock. 47 grs; Carbon Fiber bands, including the keeper; Titanium back, screws, buckle and buttons. A really good watch.

Thanks for the great review, very well presented. I have the 5610 MULTIBAND 6 & SOLAR. I did consider this watch but value for money bought the 5610 & a spare strap!. I do like the idea of the carbon fibre strap bu dislike all the writing on it. i also have an 800H which is a terrific watch, take a look at one. Thanks again.

An awesome looking watch. I own several Casio watches from the square ones to the diver watches like the MTD1053D watches which are ideal for my small size wrist. Not got a G-Shock as yet but have been looking both at the 5600 watch and the 5610 watches. Not sure which one to get as I have never put one on my wrist yet for size. From reviews I have seen the 5610 might be better on my small wrist. I normally go for 40mm watches or smaller although I do have a few Citizen and Orient watches at around 42mm which are probably the limit for me. Does anyone have both of the 5600 and the 5610 G-Shock and what would be best for me?

It's nice to see a G-Shock that doesn't look overly manly; borderline overcompensating for something. I need to find this in an olive color and maybe swap out those strap mounts with an adapter to utilize a not strap.

I actually like the printing. It gives it a very "anime" look to it. Also, it's like some sort of proof-of-concept display demo model. Makes it look very sporty. I hear the lettering may be underneath a top-coat, and very hard to remove. Best to leave it alone, as the band alone costs over $150. If it bothers you that much, i'd say sell the watch until Casio comes out with a plain version of the band.
