If so you could remove or cut the black wire. But I am not sure if this is the reason for the cell battery not to function...

It has automatic shutdown, it will turn off for 6 minutes after using it

These calculators have an integrated automatic switch-off function. Since this model doesn't have a [DISP] button, I think the only way to turn it off is to wait for 5-6 minutes and it goes off automatically.

My CASIO MS-20UC has identical case, however inside is LR54 - so double check before you buy

Thanks for the video!! I change the battery because was old and when press the numbers all numbers is 7 in the display...and dont work after the new battery. Maybe is breaked? thanks, and regars from Uruguay.

Yes, definitely something is wrong. Humidity is a huge problem for electronic devises. I think it could be capacitor fault.

Unfortunately, I bought 1 pack (consists of 8 batteries )of battery LR54 (the battery model as shown on the back cover of the calculator) this afternoon. When I take out the old battery, it is thicker than battery LR54, so the new battery could not fit in. The old battery showed "LR1130". I loved CASIO calculators and watches for a very long time. But I would not buy any CASIO products any more. How can CASIO design a calculator that make it so difficult to open for battery replacement, and CASIO stated clearly on the cover that battery LR54 was used in the calculator but actually was not. Anyway, thank you smarTech. Your video would be very useful for me if CASIO had not done so poorly.

Hi, it is very strange since CASIO does very precise work with its products. I love it too. Are you sure for the battery you bought - is it LR44 and not 54? And another thing is that CASIO has many replica (fakes) which might be done very good and you just had bad luck of purchasing a fake Casio... Just think about it...

Definitely it is replaceable but unfortunately everyone is buying a new device instead of installing a new button cell in Casio Calculator.

To reset it, usually in Casio devices there is a spot marked as "AC", meaning All Clear. You have to find it on the motherboard and connect it to the battery (+) for less than a second.

Yes, definitely. I had an older model of Casio calculator and broke it until I found a way to open it securely. CASIO probably think that no-one will change the battery - just buy a new one.
