I have worn a PAG240 for 15 years now and they are really pretty much indestructable. I am on my second one as the first one was pretty worn and dinged up from work abuse, but still runs like a champ. This one looks like it will accommodate a leather strap. I may get one. Thanks or the review.

Nice watch mate! I use one as my primary watch in the Australian Military while most of the other blokes wear Gshock Rangeman.

I was wearing it and it cut off, I'm hoping it's not over. Now I realize that it was solar powered so I will put it on my window sill and hopefully it will be able to come back to life. Advice anyone?

Great review. How do you use the bezel in conjunction with the compass?
@benwaldie4338

Anthony Cafiero you would twist the bezel to north showed on the watch and then take your compass reading from there

Is the screen costly to replace?

I know this was asked a year ago, however Casio is very limited on warranty repairs especially on expensive watches like this. I have this watch but was very disappointed over the deterioration over the limited wear over the past 2 years I have had it. Cosmetically wise the watch looks as if I had put it through hell. The bezel has completely bonded with the plastic housing it sets on. The lettering around the entire watch has faded completely off. The watch band, don't even get me started on that, but it started cracking within 3 months of wear including deteriorating as if it was melted. I have several Casio watches cheaper and older yet they look as new as you would buy new. I take very good care of my Casio watches and for what I paid for this watch which was $300 US dollars. I have an analog Protrek PRG 550 that I wear most often and it still has held up better than the 2500. Lets get back to warranties because as I said its very limited unless you pay over $500.00 for their elite watches, but I raised a fuss with Casio including sending pictures and my daily wearing habits including how I store them. They didn't even offer an apology for such poor quality let alone offer or attempt to either replace or repair the $300.00 watch. The only real good thing about that watch is the internal guts and features built in. Accuracy is spot on providing you have knowledge about calibrating the features like the compass or barometer. As for convenience you never have to set the time because it has 6 atomic multi bands where it will change the time automatically if you travel worldwide. It also keeps accurate tide readings and moon phases. The light is very bright compared to newer casio watches that seemed to have cheapened their illuminator series. I really don't like metal watchbands or else I'd have bought the 2500T which is comprised of titanium. But that wasn't the only reason, it was mainly because the cost was almost a $100.00 difference. Don't get me wrong it's a great watch functioning wise, however if you can deal with the cosmetic issues I described I don't think you'd be disappointed. I'd definitely buy spare watchbands and as for the glass screen I'd buy a screen protector. They sell them on Amazon, but be warned the cost is a little pricey. Casio tried to convince me that it's possible a corrosive substance may have gotten on the watch, but other than telling me that there wasn't any budge to make this right. I've never came into contact with any substance that was corrosive unless the watch itself was splashed or covered by it during it's production or transport before I had bought that watch. But because I'm a glutton for punishment I bought a new one of the same model for $100.00 less than I paid before and it will arrive tomorrow sometime. I guess because I really love the features so much I am willing to overlook the cosmetic for now, but that's not to say I won't be making a journal of the watch and it's daily wear because I am going to make sure Casio gets more than an earful not excluding going legal again their company for violating what we call lemon laws. Basically you can plead your case in a court that a product bought like a car or other item did not stand up to the quality or performance as stated by the manufacturing company. I've only had to do that once before on a new vehicle I bought that basically fell apart in less than two months. I won the case very quickly. You may or may not have purchased one since a year ago or you might have already had this watch since you mentioned replacement of the screen. My advice if you really love that watch would be to find a local 3rd party jeweler who can repair watches and go that route because Casio in Japan or wherever they'd send it would likely charge you as much as you may have paid for the watch. They were going to charge me almost $200.00 to replace a screen on a rare Casio divers watch I picked up at a local garage sale. I found a jewelry shop next town over and had a new screen put in for $50.00. It's interesting how other countries view products such as Casio and consider them a cheap or poor quality product. Poor and cheap in my book is any product that comes out of China. If you buy Casio watches directly from Japan you're more likely to get a top quality watch. Where as Casio in places like Malaysia or Thailand it's likely the quality may or may not be as good, that's not to say your watch will be junk as long as the internal parts are Japanese made. But if you're looking for a watch that's built with innovation vrs other competitors watches, I'd definitely stay with Casio. Way back I thought Seiko was going to be up top in competition for innovating designs going against Casio especially when Seiko introduced the world's working color television wrist watch, I even bought that when it came out. However because it did pick up analog tv signals it no longer recieves a signal because everything has changed over to digital. Still though it's proof that craftsmanship, innovation and designs did exist even in the earlier years going back in the late 80s and 90s. But sadly as quick as innovation came for Seiko it quickly disappeared over time and Casio reigned supreme for most creative innovative watches with some really incredible useful features. Timex could have joined the fray in developing innovative watches but tried to hard to keep their watches more classic looking with very little features that most of us like or find useful. Still though I give them props for leading the way with their Indiglo watches that came out in the early 80s. Soon after it was Casios illuminator watch series. Timex really does love to keep things dull especially with their Ironman series watches which haven't changed in over a decade. A lot of good memories over the years watching these companies dual it out, however as sad as it is because times and technology has changed, more and more people are wearing watches less each day including the youth. Kids and adults today carry their smartphones everywhere so watches become lass relevant to them as time ever so quickly passes by. Heck kids today can't even read an analog watch anymore or know what Roman numbers are. They seem like they're smart with their smartphones, but in truth they have become dumbed down. I dread the next 10 yrs as the failing youth inherit the world we left behind. Hopefully the good Lord will take us out of here before the world becomes completely enveloped in utter chaotic madness. A world without God is a world without love and compassion and what's left is immorally depraved souless people who thinks lies are truth and truth is lies. Heh I'm not going to dwell into that truthful reality, I'm just going to enjoy my watches and give my feedback to those willing to read or listen. So either way enjoy your watch or not and marvel at those new innovations being developed by Casio. P.S. Don't buy any watches with bluetooth or gps navigation features. Big brother is always looking for ways to see where you are at all times.

If you could afford a Swiss watch you would have one. Or if you know anything about watches you would think different.
