CASIO VS TIMEX - WHICH IS BEST? (Episode 101)

As an American l've always been drawn to Timex because of the adventurous old school designs, functions, moderate price, display, Lumi light, and their " takes a licken and keeps on ticken". They feel well made for my abuse. But I've replaced many. Casio always feels like an office watch, and I'm not crazy about the empty space on some of the models.

I have owned them both for years and absolutely love both of them. The F91-W is a little small for my 7 inch wrist, but it is insanely comfortable. My weekender is not overly loud, I have seen some that were, but mine is not a problem

Love both I have a couple of different Weekenders and a few F91Ws if I had to choose both are great value for money but I’d go with the classic Casio F91W! Nice video bro!

I'm with you Jorge, Timex for me all the way on this comparison. The beer is very good. Little stronger but totally refreshing and drinkable. Hmmm, keep looking. I've only found it in one liquor store here in BC so far and fortunately for me it's 5 minutes from my house :) It being here means they do export to Canada though so I am sure you will find it if you keep looking :) Good luck. Have Casio for almost 10 years, analog-digital, all working. Its amw 710 marine gear. Now Im selling it cuz I bought cheap Timex for a change.

I enjoyed this video, I have had both watches, I would say if it is function you are after get the Casio, but it is really crap at night, so at a pinch I would go for the Timex.. simply because it has the really good light. But being from the 80s... man lol the casio is a must, lacks complete style, but damn.. it was my 1st digital watch.

definitely 2 different watches to compare, both great for the price but the Timex is always gonna be the dressier option, but saying that Casio watches can be a great conversation starter and the thin profile and rubber strap is lightweight and comfortable on the wrist, tough choice but I think I'd have to vote for the Timex, just for the classic lines and the Nato strap and that indiglo, the best backlight in the industry! That's ultimately why I picked the Timex, that Indiglo is the win for me! I do agree on the comfort of Casio watches though. The strap on the F91W is soooo comfy! It's like you don't even notice you are wearing a watch. When you say 1k that means $1000, I presume you maybe mean $100. I would go for the Timex and in particular the Timex Weekender. You can get these at a great deal on Amazon with all kinds of colour options and the indiglo light for night is amazing! Enjoy. Best, MJ

Good video, there is a Timex much like a F91W.The analog Timex likes has ok to great leather strap, amazing lume and 30m WR but they mean 30m. My dad would take his off to change the battery or the strap broke, that's it. They are loud but the ticking is kind of there thing. Keeping doing it, was right in there advertising for wears.

I have seen the Timex that looks the same as the Casio, maybe another review ;) I know many hate the tickin but I personally like it, I find it very comforting :) Totally hear you on your dad's story with the Timex. Nice vid Matt. As a kid in the 80s I definitely have a soft spot for the Casio, but somewhere along the line in my teens, developing my own sense of style the digital watch lost its appeal to me. Guess was a popular brand in the 90s and their watches were made by times and that's when I discovered indiglo.... As you said, best lume in the business. Having a weekender in my collection, for a while when I was still doing much more working with my hands the weekender was my "weekdayer" for an everyday beat up watch. I still own that one and only weekender and true to Timex, took a licking and it's still ticking.

That's amazing that the weekender is still tickin after all these years. I would say that watch was GREAT value for money. I own a lot more expensive watches that have given up the fight. @@BeerandWatches Yup, that's correct, the Guess? watch brand is a subsidiary of Timex and my old one from the 90s had Indiglo. Basically a branded Timex expedition.

They are both great brands, but I live in Europe, and for some reason, Timex watches seem to have a higher price than their equivalent Casio.

I had both of them. The casio works perfect after 15 years. The Timex was bad after first battery change. Timex looks good but they are not durable.

I can just glance at my Weekender and instantly tell the time, but with my F-91W it takes me some time. Plus the Indiglo at night, say no more compared to the search light on the F-91W 🤣

You can get a stainless version of this watch that is on a metal bracelet but the one in this episode on a metal bracelet, hahaha, that would tip me over the edge. Very good review.. completely get the comparison... but now you need to take the review to the next level. Both brands built their reputations on making the unbreakable watch. Timex in the late 50's with "takes a licking but keeps on ticking" and casio in the 80's with the shock technology. How about you put them head to head in a torture test and see which company still lives up to its roots on their entry level watches repetitively.
