One big plus for the Duro is that it has a stainless steel case where the Timex doesn’t. I wouldn’t expect the Timex to delaminate like the Easy Readers I wore in the 1990s did (razor sharp edges, anyone?), but the watch may not be as durable in the long run. Hi, Jody! Nice comparison video, both watches in my collection for a change! I'll start out saying I favor the Duro, not least because of the price point, along with the plusses you mentioned. On the Timex, I've found the skeletonized hands adequate in daylight, but they do seem to disappear a bit when using the Indiglo function...maybe that's just my eyes. The bezel has a noticeable bounce to it, doesn't feel as solid as I'd like, and the rotation has some play as well; possibly it was manufactured on a Monday! The strap, no argument that's it's a good one, although I have it on a leather strap at the moment. I hadn't thought about it before but I agree that it looks as much like a field watch as it does a diver, which is more than fine with me. Water resistance is not much of an issue, considering I'd never use it as a dive watch anyway. All in all, it's like a lightweight frying pan versus a cast-iron skillet...both are useful, but that cast-iron goes on forever. Thanks for another great video!

The Timex would make a better field/duty watch for first responders or even someone who works at night (tavern/dimly lit restaurant. I have an Expedition Scout 43 with a leather band. I like the simplicity of the dial, and the indiglo is always a welcome addition. The second had is sloppy and it’s loud! I can hear it in a quiet room sitting across over on a dresser. I got it in 2015 and it’s still running on the original battery. I have about twenty $100 or cheaper Casios, Timexes and G Shocks that I cycle through, so not using the indiglo very often extends battery life. Recently, I find myself looking at Timex watches quite frequently. I have a number of new TImex watches; a couple of their solar Expedition watches, one Ranger and one Gallatin, a hand-wind Marlin and an automatic Marlin, and now I am considering one of the new Waterbury automatics. Not sure about this one; I would probably prefer the 41mm automatic Navi model, even though it is substantially more expensive.

I like it. I really like the handset as well. 👍

I'm actually partial to the handset, maybe the way I like it better than the Duro. I have a Duro and love it. My daily hot tub watch, but I did switch it to a nato and got rid of that terrible strap! Thanks for the Review!

I'm surprised no one mentioned the second hand hitting the marks. That is a nice thing for sure.

Really like the timex hands. The blue model is very nice looking. Wish it was smaller.

The hands match the shape on a couple of my Timex Intelligent Quartz models, so they look fine to me. Coincidental to your mentioning of the Glycine Combat Sub, I just got an Ambush model from Joma Shop for under $300.

I might have to pick one of these up. I have a blue Duro but I wouldn't mind having the Timex also

I am very impressed with Timex in recent years. When I was a kid, there was basically the iron man, the easy reader, and a few other models. Timex’s collaborations and push into more mid-range categories shows they’re proactive and looking to the future. Great review, my friend.

Like the looks of the timex.. very intersting and it has it's own style as compared to other dive style watches.. doing it's own thing by combining the look of a field and dive watch..

My last two Timex were pretty poor quality, I really like the look of this one though, hopefully they have improved the quality control.

Would love to see a Timex Atlantis review. One of my favorite watches at the moment

Great job as usual Jody. One thing that bothers me about Timex watches like this is the bouncy seconds hand. The Duro looks much more stable which I appreciate. I wonder what the seconds hands look like side by side in slow motion. Only YOU could pull that off. BTW, I bought the Timex Welton (WWI trench watch with faux brass patina). It's a great piece that I think you would enjoy reviewing.

The first timex I see with a proper second hand ticking! Idk why but I hate the duro.. don't like it at all. Much prefer the SKX design. Just sharing my thoughts 😅 Thanks for another video Jody 🙂

I like the Timex, the hands are odd, but not bad. The field watch style face is great and Indiglo is amazing. Of the two I'd get the Timex.

The handset reminds me of boat propellers, so that's a nice touch for me. Still need to go with the Duro though.

Love my duro! I have a rubber strap from strapsco that has white threads and it makes the duro look so good!

As an owner of three duros, the title definitely worked for me to watch!
