Those cellars were mostly used for glass containers preserving food air tight. Mostly fruit, vegetables or pickled food. It was also used as a protection shelter for windy storms or tornados. They are still used on houses at mostly rural areas. The cellar is mostly the coolest place in the house even through the summer.

Canada too-we have basements because it’s so freaky deaky cold on the winter and you can put an extra bathroom/bedroom. We also get many tornadoes in the prairies.

Not all American households have basement doors like that. It's usually the older homes that have them, especially in the Midwest, as they were multipurpose spaces(root cellar, storage, storm shelters etc.). The home I grew up in had them, but the home we own now is older than my childhood home, and does not. Also, in my experience, most homes that have the outside doors of that type don't have access to the basement from inside the home as well. I'm sure there are SOME that have both, but it's not common in my area.

I grew up in Connecticut. Most homes in the north east have inside and outside entrances to the basement area. When I lived in Texas and Florida no one had basements at all.

Arizona doesn’t have basements, really. We do have tri-level houses where there’s a floor halfway underground. Most don’t have a basement because we don’t have any use for them, really. Maybe up north.

A succubus first appears as a beautiful woman but once she has you pinned down she shows her true form. A heinous demon with sharp teeth, claws, etc. (because fallen angels are androgynous). I’ve known people who had a succubus attachment. They all got them from just ghost hunting but didn’t realize there were demons present.

I had this dream once where i basically gave myself over to a succubus, but there was no sex involved. Instead all i remember is how i was willing to do god awful things in order to appease her without an ounce of remorse. I have read about demons being able to enter your dreams, but most likely it was just a random nightmare.

There's also Incubus the Male form that goes for sleeping women both are pure undiluted evil Demons sure the lady in Conjuring or similar true story movie was R***d I sensored word in case it offends anyone repeatedly by Incubus wouldn't leave her alone. Anyone with evil Entity either in their own home or visiting such a place should carry and or wear a Benedictine Crucifix and or Benedictine Medallions all Demons absolutely hate anything to do with Saint Benedict also go with normal Crucifix, Bible and Holy Water which the Catholic Priest will fully Bless all these Relics I also used my Holy Rosary Beads as I'm Staunch Catholic gives better protection once all have been Blessed even yourself there's plenty Prayers of Protection on KZbin best ones are to Saint Benedict and Blessed Mother Mary himself but ask the Catholic Priest. I lived in very Haunted house it was nasty Evil Malevolent Ghost you could smell and see it it smelt much worse than sulphur and rotten eggs combined it was scaredy Entity hid in original built in cupboard type crawl space it would crawl across the Celine you would see this huge shape shifting black mass it growled at us as well as hit and punch not just us but family pets it also mocked Holy Trinity by being much more violent at 3am hated that house thankfully it didn't follow but I do sense and seen the little girl ghost who we also had that protected us from violent Malevolent Ghost the specialist Priest we had in to Exorcism the place numerous times reassured us she was genuine child and it wasn't the Demonic Entity's doing by mocking a child not nice Ghost Hunting or living with this kind thing should be taken extremely very seriously its not something to laugh and joke about it's not a game it really sickens me how people thinking its all for fun trust me it's not don't play with Ouiji Boards, symbols or anything else like that and don't use Sage only Indians Cheif's can use it they no History, no true Prayer's the Chief's use and it's true meaning etc I don't believe in Sage anyway just please be very careful out there dont mess with things you're not sure of as you be very very surprised how very ugly it can get in blink of eye. Other sad thing about it is advancement in computing and editing etc people go lazy visit Abandoned or even there own home and make it out to be Haunted by adding in Sound effects, ghostly images etc if only they seen real Ghost they soon no about it but doing this is losing the fun for genuine people like me that lived through it and is still very much interested in afterlife, Angels etc there's so much to explore and be answered Paranormal teams I've watched for decades have started to fake things which for what ever reason is sad I no longer watch some them now as can't stand there cringe worthy perfetic fake acting which makes me wonder where did it all go wrong for them

I had a cellar backdoor in the house I grew up in. They were a pretty common feature in US homes until recently (past 20 years or so). I don't see too many modern homes built with them now.

Not all homes have a cellar like that. Usually the really older homes. It was called a root cellar because that is where they stored root vegetables and home canned goods because it was a cooler temperature.

My grandparents had a basement like that only it was called a "root cellar". I remember a bunch of empty jars, plus they kept their vegetables from their garden down there too. The floors were just dirt, no cement.

Basement doors being outside of the home is outdated and unusual these days. In the southern US you rarely see basements at all. Sometimes you'll have doors like that into the ground for tornado shelters, but not basements. Those are generally seen in the middle and upper states on older houses.
