Am I the only one thinking that they have essentially heaven on earth in terms of solar energy?? if they partnered with the EU, for example, in order to build a giant solar park they would have basically free energy and a powerful ally to have a balance with Turkey. Funny thing is, they could strike an extremely good deal with China, Russia, the US, or even Turkey itself. That project and the Suez Channel should be all they need for prosperity

a clear bias in the video against Egypt in favor of turkey is it because u r from Azerbaijan ??? ......turkey is not the dominant power in the Mediterranean we are allies with Cyprus Greece Italy and France. which guarantees the European union support. in recent years we modernized our navy and we continue to do this .we can see the economy improving unlike turkey which suffers from a crumbling economy. Even NATO members r not satisfied with turkey's behaviors (american sanctions are just around the corner) the army in Egypt is trying to tackle all these problems and they r doing their best . @@joseanl I guess in the past Egypt was the dominant power in the world because it has close proximity to Europe, Africa and Asia and the Nile river and the Mediterranean and deserts. Egypt was the dominant power for thousands of years, the rise of the west was the end of that #1 status. Greeks, and Romans passed Egypt, Rome expanded it's borders in order to survive. “The bread basket of the world” was coined by the Romans. As Egypt together with Carthage were the two regions feeding Rome. To keep in mind, the Italian peninsula was in Europe, the most productive region (industrially in sfittì on to agriculturally) however it where’s that food went to the regional cities (mediolanum, Florentia, Neapolitan... Italy was the most populated region in the western emisphere) Rome itself, bought it’s good from Egypt as it could produce even more food, and was thus cheaper (the government subsidied it to make it free for all Italians living within Latium).

Egyptian doctor here. This video is spot on. I'd like to chip in and say that if Egypt is to go anywhere, it has to resolve its problems of corruption and nepotism first and foremost. A country can only be built by its people. And if people are to build Egypt, they have to be motivated and satisfied with their government and living standard. This is obviously not the case for me, nor is it for millions of Egyptians. But it is especially not the case for STEM graduates. The situation for doctors, engineers, scientists, and educated people with degrees in general (aka the people who have the capability to build the country and bring it forward) is absolutely abysmal. The corruption and nepotism strangles the whole population who are not a part of Egypt's military oligarchy. Thus, there's no incentive for anyone to stay in Egypt to build it for the future. For example, 50 percent of Egyptian medical school graduates emigrate, whether to the Gulf states or to Europe and the US. And that's only to mention how it is for doctors. If this trend continues, it'll be a catastrophe for Egypt.

In regards to Egypt's new capital city, I've always wondered why they didn't choose to build it as a port city on the coast of the Gulf of Suez, such as using the land near Ain Sokhna or Zaafarana. Safaga would actually seem to be the perfect location. This would provide Egypt with a new gateway to the world on its eastern flank and fortify its presence in the Suez Gulf. Major port facilities, access to industry, fishing, tourism, foreign investment potential, military and navy patrols, etc. Do you know why Egypt decided to forego all of these seeming geostrategic benefits, and instead opted to build the new capital in the middle of a desert?

The pyramids are just the most known of them, but basically the entire country is sprawling of amazing archeological sites and ancient relicts given 5000+ years of continuous written and built history. It's the perfect setting for high-value tourism for all over the world. Just imagine how much money they could make by making it standard for the global top 1% of society to send their children for 6 weeks to Egypt to discover its treasures. That would be 2+ million tourists every year with each one of them spending some 10,000$ there.

Here's my 2 cents. I think that a study that investigates possible positives and negatives of widening, deepening and straightening the Nile river should be conducted. Straighten the river to make it navigable, and widen and deepen it to make it accessible to cargo ships. If doing this is feasible, and economically beneficial, than digging deep water canals that shoot off this hypothetical new Nile and run to Egyptian ports in the Red Sea might also be a good idea. I also will add that, if doing all this is economically possible and beneficial, than a way to create more arable land could be to divide the country up into 2x30-2x50 blocks of land, using the Nile as the mid line, then creating deep water canals that shoot off the Nile and run between these rectangular blocks. The water that is delivered by these hypothetical canals could be used to help start a massive land reclamation project. Hypothesise that all this is possible. If all these canals worked and a land reclamation project was successful, than infrastructure could be built in these hypothetical reclaimed lands. New city's could be built and more farming and agricultural works could be done. Note: I split up my big block of sentences into smaller sentences because I know how people dislike big blocks of sentences. Also, Happy new year.

Hell they even get from North Korea lol, so they are very diversified in that department and that is why the rank reflects that. Egypt also builds its own tanks and other types of vehicles and armaments. Turkey is a NATO state, a puppet for the west in the region along with Israel. I think this Year, Turkey came on top but again, Turkey is a NATO state. This fact is considered into the rankings, specially the global firepower rankings. The only thing that is not considered in those rankings are the Nuclear capabilities. Excellent video and happy new year! I am surprised you stated that EVERY campaign through the Sinai came with “high cost” to the invading power. The six-day war begs to differ. In fact, Israel took the Sinai in a day, then held the Sinai for 15 years. Israel gave it back in the interests of peace in 1982. Israel’s cost was a fraction of what Egyptian forces lost trying to defend. Simply put, Egypt was routed within 36 hours in the Sinai.
