After looking at the map of the Arabian peninsula during the video I realize why the Saudis are fighting so hard in Yemen - they realise the Iranians can easily shut off the straits of Hormus, but if they gain a strong hold in Yemen, not only will they be at Saudi Arabia's door step - they will also be in a position to shut off the straits between Yemen and Djibouti. This would literally strangle the Saudis!

I was a military contractor there for 4 years training there forces. They will never be an effective organize military force. Too much tribalism and corruption. The society is too lazy . They feel they're above everybody else. Most of the labor in the country is done by foreigners. And a large portion of the military doesn't care to learn about being an organized military. Their answer to much of the training they received was the Americans will come when the instructors and myself told them they need to learn this. They have good military equipment. Some of the best money can buy. But what good is it if your soldiers are not smart or disciplined enough to use it. Hence why they're getting their butts handed to them in Yemen on the ground. If it wasn't for the airpower they have, they'd be losing the war in Yemen.

Europa didn't start war in middle east, we only joined because of article 5 NATO. If one country is attacked all other country's will help in some way, not excluded-military help. I think that was only time article 5 was triggered. Maybe in Bosnian war? But USA detonated their twin towers, one reason, they needed distraction from news that trillions of dollars was missing from pentagon budget. And of course need to feed military budget. Also how useful that muammar gaddafi warned Italy before his country was attacked, that if Libya fall Europe will get mass immigration from North Africa. USA elite is playing games, and most population in west is brainwashed, because they watch mass media. P.S. my country didn't attacked any ''terrorists'', armies in middle east, only trained country's army, and defended military outposts, and lost only 2 men. Most offense was done by US, and other reason why they invaded in Middle east was to destroy ancient relics, artifacts-some of oldest on earth in middle east, some of them write about aliens. I believe US will try to scare population that Aliens will invade, so we need to make world army to defend earth, but in reality ''alien air crafts'' will by US experimental ''airplanes''. If world army will by established, there is plan to make martial law, and most citizens would by slaves. Hope it wont happen, and most people will wake up before that. Last month, Canada encouraged Saudi Arabia to free some imprisoned advocates (women's driving rights among others). In response, Saudi Arabia cut ties with Canada, tweeted an image of a plane headed towards the CN Tower and ranted madness for days. Saudi Arabia miraculously makes North Korea look calm by comparison.

Saudi Arabia knows its greatest enemy is not Israel but Iran. The UAE and Bahrain have made peace and established diplomatic relations with Israel. I will not be surprised if sometime in the 2020's Saudi Arabia does the same. In the game of geopolitics; the old adage is applicable here, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Interesting video. Greetings from Germany...🍺

Interesting to watch this episode in hindsight. Especially regarding the bin Salman junior. He'll have to balance between keeping the royal elite satisfied and implementing political, cultural and economic reforms. Turns out that just as everything else in this medieval absolute monarchy, this succession situation did not follow the contemporary political rules. Instead of keeping the rest of the royals satisfied, he used a supposed anti corruption action as a ruse to literally purge the kingdom from all competitors, with some of them disappeared and the rest imprisoned until they transferred all or most of their possessions and claims to the state i.e. him. Same brutality has been shown to all dissenters, with horrific war crimes being committed in Yemen as I write this. The West needs to completely disentangle itself from the dependency on this regime's oil and isolate Saudi Arabia to the point that no other country ever has been isolated. Unfortunately it's hard to see the US giving up on their partner in crime. Perhaps this will require Europe joining up with Russia and China in combating this evil.

The first time the oil was extracted was in 1938, before that our grandparents lived in hell, no water no AC no cars no houses, they died of hunger and thirst. no one helped them not even thier “neighboring countries”, Everyone mocked us and laughed at our religion, camels, tents and dates but they didn’t know that these 4 factors what helped us to survive and thrive, now we have oil and everyone wants to be our friend, we are not lucky we are believers whom believed in god and he rewarded us and we will be thankful for him our whole life.

I am sorry dude, but the shia and wahabi conflict thing, and the minority second class thing in addition to most of what you stated in your speech, were just a bull**it. There nothing called wahabi in Saudi Arabia + all of the "presumed second class shia" have the very same rights that their sunni brothers and sisters have. Not to mention the fact that most of the very same "second class shia minority" work in the field of oil and health care in a very high rewarding jobs and positions. Another fact, 20% of the Shura council ,which is the country's legislating authority, is formed by shia. And regarding the presumed "second class foreign workers", I don't really know what type of injustice or restrictions they are facing that you are pointing out too. Could you please give more clarifying examples. And if that is the case with them, why they are still going to work there given the very humiliating and inhuman situations that they are going to suffer?

A key flaw in Western considerations when assessing Iran, is Iranian influence throughout the entire ME. In every country it has deep ties. Take Yemen. Iranian-Yemeni relations predate Islam itself! In other countries it is the same! Iran has had influence in Egypt since 525BCE. Therefore countries that see Iran as meddling in the affairs of her neighbors are misunderstanding the Iranian hand in the ME. It is no exaggeration to state that the peace and prosperity of Western Asia solely rests on Iran. Now when Iran is governed justly, the rest of the ME is at peace and is prosperous. When Iran is governed poorly or unjustly, their s great turmoil in ME. Let’s take a guess how it’s being governed at present.

I can already see the comments. -Saudi military is shit against the Houthis(Even though they've only deployed most of their troops in the borderlands and the troops that are in Yemen are only support, the brunt of the force there is from Yemen.) Saudis are lazy! (I'd agree until you understand that the Saudis aren't suffering from the same problem as the rest of the Gulf in terms of laziness. Their population is still capable of creating a solid workforce as long is it doesn't do the same mistakes as countries like the UAE or Qatar.) However I agree that tribalism is a huge problem that must be addressed. MbS needs to focus on solidifying the Saudi identity as first and the tribal identity as second. This is coming from a Kuwaiti whose country is a worse shape than Saudi in terms of our workforce and population imbalances.
