He didn’t. She dumped him because he wasn’t “there” enough. Offscreen he basically became obsessed with the 616 timeline and becoming a member of the Avengers, and after he got turned down he remained obsessed enough that he wasn’t focusing on her or his friends enough for her liking.

This movie was far too long and was entirely fan service. Should have cut it in half and maybe had a focus. First 2 were actually decent for what they were.
