Absolutely brilliant video as always cassetteboy. Thank you for the support. Doctors in England simply want to look after patients in a safe environment. Hunt's contract will discriminate against women, it will reduce weekday cover and weaken the hours monitoring that currently exists. It'll lead to doctors working even more unpaid hours, exhaustion and a higher risk of making mistakes. As a young doctor I and many others I know will leave the country if this unsafe contract is imposed but before that I will fight to protect our NHS. Lastly we do not want a pay rise, if we were back on our old contract and imposition was removed, there would be no further strikes.

Them striking is putting people with cancer etc. On waiting lists for treatment, the whole situation has not been handled properly. Could have been resolved by taking government to court, instead we are extending waiting times. These people are getting incredible FREE training and they go on strike.

+Carl Johnson don't get me wrong, I think what Hunt has done is appalling, but first the doctors are receiving incredible training for free which makes up for it somewhat. Ultimately, by taking to government to court, they could have settled this fairly and totally crushed the government using the power of the law. Government would have to use tax payers money to fight the case which would screw them, and doctors come out on top, and no strikes

+Kevin Smith I know right!? I work as a buyer for a construction company. Its all about efficiency and cost control. The NHS has a co-op purchasing system to allow orders from multiple hospitals to be grouped so prices can be negotiated down, but in 2015 it was only used for 5% of purchases. So much money could have been saved. The problem is that some managers have very little or no medical experience so make silly un-informed decisions. We need people with business and medical experience so they can be efficient and make sure care is the highest priority. A mix of the below solutions would be best. Solution 1 : encourage existing managers to take a some form of basic medical qualification or shadow doctors/nurses to give them more perspective on how their decisions affect the ground level. Solution 2: encourage doctors/nurses to take business qualifications so they can become/advise managers. Solution 3: require by law that all hospital boards have an equal number of medical and managerial staff that all have the same voting power on policy and budget changes.

Wow that was harsher than expected, Jeremy Hunt is being a dick with the more hours less money, but striking all the time will put more strain on the NHS, however according to an interview with a patient on the BBC news he said that things were faster and more efficient without them, In that hospital waiting times were cut in half because they went straight to he consultant, maybe having less red tape (not using JD) will actually benefit the NHS in the long run.

As much as the junior doctors may have grudge about their contracts, they should be reminded they are public servants and its we the general public that pay their wages through our NI contributions and taxes. Maybe the government should stop their salaries whist they strike, this may knock some common sense into the BMA's head to negotiate to resolve this issue and remind them again we want a 7 day health service not a 5 day one.
