Thank you for stirring up the memories. We drove that way in 2018 from the other side of the country. Four & half months on the road, an awesome time. The Bear glacier has certainly receded since our trip based on looking at our photos.

WOW! Those clouds hugging the mountains are cinematic gold! It may have been miserable and rainy for you, but the magic and mystery they added to the scenery was incredible. Audio of the stream with the salmon was perfect. Best one yet! Wow!

Really appreciate the high praise. We spent an enormous amount of time preparing this video, I'm glad you enjoyed it. And yes, the clouds really added a mysterious element that made the footage even more interesting. Rain yes....miserable, heck NO! I'd go back in a second.

OMG! By far the most awesome video! It’s strange that when you were driving thru smoke, I could smell it! Ha! Everything about this video is professionally done. The scenery is by far the most awesome! It’s as realistic as it can get other than to be there! Thanks for sharing!

That might be my favorite video of yours. The content was great and that glacier was astounding. The video in this piece is truly remarkable, especially some of the shots with that really narrow depth of field. There are people who I worked with for years who couldn't have produced a video like that. Really well done!

We drove through the Smithers BC area and we definitely agree. It's a beautiful area. Hope to return sometime soon to spend more time, and maybe a video 😊. I bet it was sad to leave that area.

@@AlaskanRamTravelAdventures ToTW, the Campbell and the Cassiar this year. Depending on weather. The first two suck when it's muddy.

We covered the same places in our RAM Van in reverse order, driving up on the Cassiar, and down on the Alaska. We got to the Salmon Glacier, opened the back doors (with screen) and had a great evening. We actually saw mini icebergs floating down the river. you say next time? We are going back 2024, hope to see you there.

@@AlaskanRamTravelAdventures We are heading back at the end of July! Once in Dawson this time, we are travelling 'The Dempster Highway' to the Arctic Ocean and the village of Tuktoyuktuk! We are going to visit Fairbanks, Valdez, Homer and Anchorage.

If there are any bears fishing, your best chance of seeing them are early in the morning. The Salmon Glacier would be a lot worse if the active mining didn't work on the road once in a blue moon.

Thanks for the tip! We were really late in the season, too, so that didn't help in our efforts to see bears.

What time of the year was this and did you make reservations or just wing it? We're getting diverted from the ALCAN to the Cassier d/t the fire/s. Great video.

We traveled the Cassiar in September of 2023 on our way back to the lower 48 from Alaska. We did not have reservations. We took our chances and never had a problem getting a camp site, but that was a different time of year, and if everyone is being diverted that way, it is likely to be much more busy now. We hope it works out for you! It is a beautiful drive!

We almost had similar issues when we drove the Alaska Highway in May of 2023. It was closed for a couple of days due to fire, but opened back up just about the time we were heading through there. Both the Alaska Highway and the Cassiar are beautiful drives, so you can't go wrong with either one!

Looks like an amazing trip! question regarding camping spots along your trip. do you typically have reservations or do you just show up and hope for a spot? what time a day do you typically stop to get your lovely spots. thanks you

Along the Cassiar Hwy, we did not have reservations. However, we traveled through this area in mid-Sept which is very late in the season for that area. We typically arrived early afternoon, no later than 3pm and tried not to arrive on a weekend. Some of the campgrounds were nearly full when we arrived. Certainly appreciate you watching and hope you are able to make a trip to this beautiful area.

did you have any trouble/worries about finding gas stations along this route with the fairly large trailer that you towed with you?
@AlaskanRamTravelAdventures
@AlaskanRamTravelAdventures 4 ай бұрын
There were only a few fuel stations that were along the route, but they were plenty large enough for us to get in without worry. The diesel fuel was quite expensive though!

thanks for getting back to me. I can only imagine what fuel costed then. What type of towing range do you have with your setup? @@AlaskanRamTravelAdventures
