Cass broke it down perfectly. Battle rap is like street ball. You can get away with double dribbles, carries and travels because it’s all about displaying haymaker punches mixed with visual performance and gimmicks. You can’t do any of that on a beat. Rapping on a beat is the NBA of rapping

Hate it or love it, Cassidy is a lyrical technician. He’s the only one to sell gold records and still maintain a BAR format way of rapping. The man battled his self on his own album, and sold records. This is before social media💯💪🏽

Not true, each new generation is born out of the previous indoctrination of the last generation! So if you don’t teach your creation but allow outside sources to teach it (school, tv, etc) then you get what you or other entities put out for the child to absorb.

20-25yrs ago they (rappers) had to master both b/c battling was how they got on; Once they were on, they had to transition into songwriting or get left behind in the music biz.

That was back then - truth is battlerap then was like amateur boxing and making music and being an industry rapper was the professional ranks. Battlerap has developed now to a point where it's far more complicated and is a profession of its own. Mastering both now is pretty much impossible.

I would go as far and say religious sermons are similar to. It’s all words delivery and energy in verbal art Forms, some people don’t see comedians as artists. There’s a lot that goes into comedy. Facts.....and that's something everyone is failing to understand.....songs are easy to create and record and go back and fix if need be but battling and remembering 9 minutes of what you wrote and creating schemes and punches and so forth is fucking hard.....to me the both is far from comparable......battling is a beast in its own jungle ...that's why slot of industry cats that didn't or don't have battle format can't compete

He has to earn his respect. He hasnt won a battle yet. Battle rap isnt the same as it was when Cass was battling. These dudes carried the the artform on their back and he just came back when it became more lucrative. Cass can rap but his rounds are nothing that hasnt been said 10 years ago.
