A few recommendations from a 10 yrs married “old lady”- we never say the D word, i don’t allow it… esp not in a fight. He’s said it a few times in a general sense & I gave him THAT look & reminded him it’s not allowed & walked away for 15-20 mins to let things cool off, bc obvs we were too emotional to have a legit convo… that’s a big suggestion too. Agree to pause & come back when your message & emotions are clearer/calmer. If “Divorce” (shudder) isn’t a word in your vocabulary, then it’s not an option… if it’s not an option, then y’all just gotta figure that shiz out!! You think you always will… but marriage, it’s a lot of work. It’s hard. It’s HARD WORK… it’s can be a reaaaaall muthafukah at times… it’s hard for everyone, so don’t compare yourselves to others. Everyone has their struggles/issues & speed bumps. I truly believe “don’t go to bed angry”… always kiss, atleast… being frustrated & pissy is alright… just not *angry*. And don’t forget to actively keep/enable/force the line of communication to stay open… Make time for one another, & time to really, truly connect. Explore, laugh, try new things, reinforce your bond, & make time to look each other in the eyes & hold hands, etc… it’s easy now, but In a few yrs, you’ll be glad you have these routines & habits in place. You never know what life has in store. So, Keep making out, keep dancing in the living room, keep taking a trip when the two of you need time to re-connect & get your sexy back… and always remember: Unconditional love = loving someone & expecting NOTHING in return. If you both make that your priority when you wake up each day, then you’ll be alright.😉 Marriage ebbs & flows, & it’s not always fair/equal in terms of effort or sacrifice, but just try to make the other person know you recognize /appreciate them & what they’re doing, & don’t be afraid to tell them what you need to be more happy, content, feel more appreciated (that’s honest communication); & always remind them youre their biggest fan, & why, & what you need to feel supported or how to better support them… & you’ll both be happy. Don’t forget to give lots of compliments- bc they’re contagious. ❤ Y’all are a gorgeous badass couple! Don’t do your own makeup for your wedding Cassie!!!! I swear by god my sister did that and it was so stressful for her that day and busy. DO. NOT. DO. IT. Get a makeup artist whose style aligns with what you like instead. Trust me you’ll thank yourself later when you look good in your wedding photos. You’re spending a ton of money on a big day, you should have someone else do your makeup. My sister had so many people interrupt her the morning of her wedding because there was no makeup artist to kick them out. She ended up hating how she looked and this is one of her biggest wedding day regrets!!! All in all though congratulations on your wedding and this new exciting era!! 🎉🎉🎉
