I'm just starting my POD Etsy shop, but I'm learning so much from your videos. I'm all about being organized and your videos help. I structure my day with one hour of walking when I first get up. Then I make a cup of coffee and have my Bible Study/Devotional time, Then I allow myself 20 to 30 minutes to take care of personal emails, social media, etc. THEN, I'm actually ready to start my business day. I try to be ready for this by 9 a.m. My business day starts with what I "think" I want to accomplish this day. Then I watch any of your videos on topics I think I need. Sometimes I am allowing myself to click on a video in your playlist, completely at random. This constitutes my morning group business meeting. Your videos give me the information and the encouragement I need. Next, I review my to complete today list, then I actually get to work on designs and listing. I thank you so much for meeting me virtually in my morning business meeting. You are a great partner in my new venture. 😀

Changing the prices to $24.99 and then go over to my Etsy shop and click on the box on that liisting and then go to editing options and then to edit prices and that's where I put the $1 incremethat's supposed to raise next size up to a dollar but all of my sizes are showing $24.99. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Also there is nothing that says "bulk." Please any help would be so much appreciated. My shop is a mess right now.

Hi Cassie, thanks for the info! I have a question, so Etsy sent me a message on one of my orders saying this: Your order contains multiple products types or print providers that have different shipping rates. As Etsy automatically applies a flat shipping rate, this may result in a loss of profit. Both products are from Printify, but from different providers, luckily Etsy charged the shipping fee for the most expensive product, but almost zero for the other product (which was sent by a different provider, and charge the full shipping fee by Printify). So I ended up paying double the shipping cost (on Printify) than what was charged by Etsy to the customer. How do you compensate the prices then? Or how would you change the shipping settings on Etsy?

I get most my views on my diaper bags and swimsuits. No sales yet. I’m just recently getting a better grasp on designing and use of good mock-ups etc thanks to you.
@CassiyJohnson2 жыл бұрын
It's less about how many you have for sale and more about how much research you did on being prepared. Did you make sure you are selling in a niche that is in high demand and people are currently searching for and buying? Did you make a design that not only looks good but is also a trending design style for this year like checkerboard or retro fonts and colors? These two things can be hard to master but once you do, you should start to see sales!

Hi Cassiy, This video was very helpful. I just have a quick question. I know that you can opt out of Etsy Off Ad fees until you hit $10,000 in sales. Then they will charge 12% for each sale that came from one of their off site ads (if the person clicked on the ad of course). So, once you get to that level, do you raise the price of the shirt to include that potential charge, keep the price the same, or price somewhere in the middle? Thanks! Jessica
@CassiyJohnson Жыл бұрын
Hey Jessica great question! I just leave the prices that same because this doesn’t happen super often. I get even on my busiest months maybe 10-20 offsite ad sales. My biggest month ever I think I had 50 out of 2000 items sold were from this. Ideally you aren’t losing money on it when you get these sales and they will help boost your listings to get more organic sales!

Hi Cassiy, thank you for sharing all your insight and knowledge. Your videos are super helpful. I have two questions. You mention that you use the 24.99 free shipping strategy. Did you start off with this strategy as a new seller? I am wondering if you think people would still buy at that price from a new seller that has not yet established themselves and may only a few if any reviews. My second question is about shipping. So I understand that shipping is applied to each item, but say you have a sale for 10 shirts, each item is applied a 5 dollar shipping fee, the shipping cost for this order is $50? Whether the cost is passed on to the customer or incorporated into the pricing, am I understanding this correctly? Seems high, but I am new to this.
@ImogenShade11 ай бұрын
Maybe have it qualified for free shipping over a certain amount? $50 in shipping feels wrong!
@addiedivers40632 жыл бұрын
HI! Do you use an excel sheet to organize your products? How do you keep all your products organized with pricing etc? Personally on Printify you can only organize your shirts by brands and not by design. I would love something where I can see the design I have in all the different versions I have of the same design. Because the price also differs whether you have one or two sided shirts. Sorry for the long winded question. Hope I made sense!
@CassiyJohnson2 жыл бұрын
I don't really track stuff like that, I typically just spend my time making new things until something starts selling, then I notice it's selling and add that designs to more items if that makes sense! Try not to analyze this business to death.

Any advice on how we keep designing and adding listings when we're not getting sales or views? I truly believe I am doing everything right. I think that my best advice to this would be to really try to work on your mindset that you know this is a learning experience and no one is good at things right when they first try them. There is likely lots of little places you can slowly improve on. I tried to have a mindset in the beginning that if I got no sales for a year but learned a lot, then it would be worth it! Obviously we want you making sales before that though so here are a few tips just in case you are missing anything. 1. Spend 50% of your time working on designs for what will be selling 8-12 weeks from now. Spend the other 50% designing for what is selling NOW. Make sure you are working on things that are currently selling. 2. Make sure you aren't just making up a design that "looks good" each time you go to design. It's not enough for it to just look nice on your computer or phone, it needs to fit within the trends that are currently selling this year. Are you doing retro fonts and retro colors? that is a huge trend this year. 3. Do you have absolutely GREAT mockups? I'd recommend Moonlit Mockups if you don't have literally the cutest mock ups yet. Are you including the ugly printify or printful mocks in your listings? don't do that if you are. 4. SEO, are you spending time taking seo from other best sellers? Are you using the full Title space and tags space? Are you putting the most important keyword you want to rank for first? 5. Do you have cute photo cards in your listing and a cute size chart? 6. Do you have a nice looking description that answers all of your customers potential questions? 7. Do you have a nice logo and banner? If you are doing all of those things right, then you might just need a little more time. But if you really are doing all those things, then the sales should start coming! Feel free to purchase my shop review if you want more specific advice on your store! www.cassiyjohnson.com/offers/vZ69PybL

I just started my shop a few weeks ago and I didn’t know if doing click bait strategy was a good idea if you create a XS shirt size and you put the quantity at 0 so it is sold out but you place the price at 9.99 for example? Do you think buyers would respond to it the same way as selecting 1 size 1 color of shirt that is actually in stock or would they take it more negatively? Thank you for taking the time to read this I greatly appreciate it!

Hi Cassiy! Do you use the free shipping from 35 USD which etsy recommends or do you offer free shipping in general for the shirts even if someone only buys one?

I do just free shipping for any item, just one or multiples!

This is such a helpful video. Thank you so much. Quick question, you mentioned one of the strategies of pricing T-shirts at 16.99 and offering free shipping. Do you have a general rule for using percentage of revenue rather than an exact price? I’d love to apply this strategy to hoodies and different brands of T-shirts as well.

Thank you for all your experience sharing Cassiy, I find your videos very helpful. I have a UK Etsy store and just wanted to ask you how you set your pricing for the US in Pritify, as I am faced with either paying a 2.5% conversion fee to list items in $$$ on Etsy or the items prices will fluctuate according to the £-$ ever-changing exchange rate, which will affect both the selling price and the profit for each item. Many thanks in advance.

Cassiy, Quick question: I see a lot of listings on POD say “Handmade” I think it’s questionable since we don’t even touch the product. What do you think ?
@CassiyJohnson2 жыл бұрын
Plenty of people on Etsy do sell handmade items like t-shirts etc. I would never put that your items are handmade though.

Thanks for another super informative video. When you charge 24.99, do you also run a sale?
@CassiyJohnson2 жыл бұрын
Hi Barb, so glad you enjoyed my video! Yes a lot of times I run a 20% off sale but price my items at $30.99 so then after the sale it's $24.79. But I have recently found out that in states like California, you need to sell something at the non sale price at least 1x per month. So I am going to re do my strategy probably!

@vondalowery46042 жыл бұрын
@@CassiyJohnson could you not just choose one or two items to sell at regular price the entire month and discount all others at 20% and be okay for states like california. OR perhaps once per month put everything in the store at the regular price for instance on the 1st of the month for a couple of days and then change it all back on sale for the entire rest of the month?

Hi Cassiy, Do we have to list in the Etsy product description that we are using print on demand products?
@CassiyJohnson2 жыл бұрын
No you do not! You just have to select in the listing that you are using a production partner.

Hi Cassiy, I wanted to get your thoughts on this. I have been working on T-shirts, Hoodies, and Christmas Ornaments so far. I do not have a lot yet. Anyway, I want to offer mugs also. So my question is, would you advise dedicating a full shop to mugs? I can’t help but think it will be more professional. I really LOVE creating drinkware both POD and physically. I’d love your opinion. Or is this what you mean by creating one general store offering multiple products. (Not sure if you mentioned this in this video or another one).
@CassiyJohnson2 жыл бұрын
If you are just getting started, then I recommend trying to focus mainly on one product type in the beginning so you can better understand what types of niches and design styles sell well on those, what customers value in a product, what types of photos sell the best, what features to highlight in your listing to get more sales, what makes a great description for that product etc. Then you can branch out to other products. But I personally would put them all in one store because it is much more simple to run one store instead of multiple and quicker to grow it with number or sales and reviews. But you are fine to do it either way you would like!

Thanks so much for this video! It's so helpful! If you don't mind sharing, what is your recommended price for hoodies (Gildan 18500)?
@CassiyJohnson2 жыл бұрын
It all depends on how much you are paying for the hoodie, I'd recommend trying to get close to a $15 profit per hoodie. They can go for anywhere between $37 - $49 usually.

hello Cassiy, another excellent video, I am just taking your profit calculator!!! but not so much to count, I have still no sales, I am waiting for your beginning class. When doing a new own design for bestselling products, can I use the same titles and tags as bestsellers or should I add always less competition keywords as you showing in the video using sales samurai?
@CassiyJohnson2 жыл бұрын
Hi Agnes! I would recommend using a lot of the same titles and tags as the best sellers because you know they are working but then throw in a few more lower competition keywords as well if there are some that make sense for that niche!

I’ve made shirts with front and back print and print full wants to charge $20+ for the shirt alone. So to include that along with profit, I’m looking at up to $40. What is the best t-shirt brand to use to help keep costs a little lower so I can remain competitive. Not even including shipping costs

Thx I changed the tees to the 5000 but even the largest shirts still came up to $35 or otherwise I wouldn’t have much of profit. Thinking I’m just better off with 1 sided tees till I can afford 2 sided tees
