40 years after-the-fact, the "Dallas" TV show still has one of the most recognizable theme songs there is.

My husband was addicted to this program. 1981 we named our daughter Kristin. The best night time drama of the decade!
@davidyoung511410 ай бұрын
I can remember watching the 'Who Shot J.R.' episode when it first aired, and retired for the evening right afterwards, turned on my radio to listen to the news as I got ready for bed, and the first words on the top-of-the-hour newscast were..."It was Kristin'! THAT showed just how powerful the 'Who Shot J.R.?' mania overtook popular culture that summer! Sad to hear that the beautiful Gayle Hunnicutt passed away recently.

Dallas was my childhood and at a time when we only had three channels on tv and our tv was black and white! And back in those days, the tv’s remote control were us younger kids with pushed in buttons for the channels that could easily break your finger if you weren’t careful. I must admit, with the declining state our world today, honestly time was far better and nicer back then
@shuddog20004 жыл бұрын
Lol! I tell my nephew about the days when children were the remote control and he just laughs in disbelief! Still it was the golden age of television and Dallas was everyone's favorite show.
@brunoottina2934 жыл бұрын
@@shuddog2000 In France it was the same, we were the remote control 😂😂😂 And we were a clock too. My mom : "Bruno, go to the kitchen and tell me what time is it, please." I was six years old and I answered : "the little hand is on five..." 😁😁😁 Life was different. No smartphone and no laptop. And we were happy. Sometimes we called a friend for helping about homeworks with the home phone that had a sundial. My godness !

True Has to be the greatest TV them song ever for a non-sitcom. The Charlie's Angels theme song is also very good & iconic but not as good as this! I can only think of 1 or 2 sitcom theme songs that are just as iconic and good as Dallas.

It was super exciting. To know that when Dallas came on the family gathering of the TV and watched the show. Each one of us had a character in which we liked. I loved Ray and Jock. My mom Jock and Sue Ellen. My dad Bobby and Digger. My grandma was Ms. Ellie and the hole cast. Mary Frances Crosby was on the reruns in the 90's Mary Frances Crosby was here for The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival she was a Queen. And we watched the reruns of Dallas. My daughter happened to noticed that. I explained to her about it being before she was on the show and famous people. As well as she grows up she was honored to see alot of famous people and Queens become famous.

"Dallas" is the most famous and most successful prime time drama, of all time...The ensemble cast was brilliant and the storylines, consistently, fantastic. It's a pity Mary "Kristin" Crosby wasn't there, for this reunion...Afterall, her character was the answer to tv's most famous question, of all time, namely, "Who shot J. R.?"...Also, I would love to have seen Victoria "Pamela Barnes Ewing" Principal, Ken "Cliff Barnes" Kercheval and Susan "Donna Culver Krebbs" Howard, in this reunion. Larry "J. R. Ewing" Hagman was to "Dallas" and soap operas, in terms of impact, importance and inspiration (for other actors, who, play, or aspire to play, TV villains), what Steve Jobs was to Apple. The only other TV villain, who, in my view, matches up to Larry's portrayal of J. R., is, Joan "Alexis Colby" Collins, who, was brilliant, in that role. "Dallas" is my favourite primetime drama, of all time. Last, I feel I must pay homage the two late matriarch and patriarch of the Ewing clan, namely, Barbara "Miss Ellie" Belle Geddes and Jim "Jock Ewing" Davis, respectively, who, made their characters two of the most famous, most iconic, most respected and most revered, in TV history.

Can't believe how everyone has aged, but time waits for no one. I'm going to start watching the first 3 seasons. They were my favorite. With Jim Davis, Dallas had a western movie toughness, a certain grit with him, after he passed, it was just a night time soap opera. Still a good product, but no where near as good. My favorite part of Dallas was of Victoria Principal pool side in her wet bikini, I still see her answering that phone and her arms squeezing those beautiful boueys together. 😎👙

For some people it's a part of their past and keep it there. Also, she's not the only one whose done a similar thing. When they did Behind The Music: Duran Duran, Roger Taylor chose not to be interviewed in the "original" broadcast. Andrew Ridgeley did the same thing with George Michael, while R & B Singer Evelyn Champagne King doesn't talk about her past on a Show called Centric kind of like a R & B Version of Behind The Music. Throughout the whole time he played Buzz Cooper on Guiding Light 1992-2009, Justin Deas never did Interviews, or even do Cast Photos. He wasn't even at The Daytime Emmys in 2009 when The Show got a Salute just before it's cancellation.

Anthony Kuszel Victoria was never a popular cast member she was stuck up
@anthonykuszel80246 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your point. But if the surviving original cast lived this long to see this momentous occasion, 40 YEARS LATER, I dont think it would be asking too much for the original main character to appear. Remember, those first five original episodes were owned by Victoria, Pamela Barnes Ewing. JR and Sue Ellen were supporting characters in the original episodes. Pamela was the main character at first. And I think she was at her best in the beginning.
@tombstone11116 жыл бұрын
She's a bitch and an absolutely terrible actor, unlike most of the originals on the show. Most overrated character ever on Dallas. Btw, JR should've divorced Sue Ellen and made the far more beautiful Kristen his wife.
