Great video. Been a while since I've been on. Looking in great cycling shape sir.

Awesome and detailed video. I was able to get a copy. I was appreciative for seeing the test made in the cold temperature before and after your ride. That convinced me to grab a copy.

I have this set of gloves bought on Dec 2021here in the UK. I can vouch they are perfectly warm and feel nice in my hands.
@Veloharmony2 жыл бұрын
Yes they are! I still have to use liners, when our temps dip below 32F, because we have very high humidity in our area.

Thanks for the video, I was interested to hear your opinion, I really suffer with cold hands in the winter so took the plunge and purchased a pair of these last winter, whilst they were the best gloves I had to that point I still found I got cold hands below 0 Celsius, I tried them with liners which made no difference, I now wear them in temps no colder than plus 2C to plus 10c and they are perfect, I finished up buying a pair of Sealskinz Heated and waterproof cycling gloves for when the temperatures are 0 or below, they were well worth the money and so far have proven the only gloves suitable fir myself when it gets down as cold as 0C.

Agree Mark. It takes a bit of testing to find what works as we all have different tolerances. So far these are my go to below O Celsius but I will keep looking and trying. Thanks for the feedback.

After the strong disappointment with the 'Assos Ultraz' gloves ($125!), I want to try the 'Castelli Estremo' this winter. Your review looks and sounds promising. Nothing worse than spending big bucks on gloves and get icy hands immediately at -1C. (Assos!!). Thank You.

Every glove has temperature ranges that they excel at and all riders handle temperatures differently. You may have to use liners with some gloves at extremely cold temperatures to keep your fingers warm.

Thanks for the great review. I saw on Amazon they don’t work with smart screens unless they fixed it in latest version?

They don't work with smart phones.

I have used those throughout the winter her in the UK, and they are awesome! My only issue is there are no reflective areas.

what temperatures did you use the gloves to ride in

Used these gloves over the winter. Minis 1 degree/30 f is about the limit that my hands stay warm, anything above 4 degrees/45f, and they make my hands sweat. Its all dependent on your circulation really. Love the glove though.

I have these gloves and they don’t work for me. My fingers freeze below 50. Would you say Assos Ultraz are warmer? Thanks
@Veloharmony2 жыл бұрын
No. Consider purchasing wool liners to wear with your gloves below 50F

You need to keep your arms warm and your core. If either of these are cold, so will be your hands, FACT! You might have the best gloves on the planet, but it will make little difference! I'm a real Castelli fanboy, but I'll be honest, Castelli gloves tend to be junk made in China (I speak through experience)!

@@mokotramp Thanks for the advice. Got rid of the Castelli’s, and got the Assos, and they work well. Got liners as well. Older rider and really suffer in the cold. Got a drawer full of stuff that doesn’t work!

@@bamicus9342 You have to look at cold weather riding in a scientific manner, be aware of your biology etc. When you turn the gas up, say on a hard climb or you're doing Z3 and upwards, you find your extremities heating up! As soon as your heart rate drops and you begin to cool off, so do your hands and feet. It becomes a horrible yo-yo effect of being hot and cold! Also remember to remain well hydrated in the cold, your body is losing heat which means it's losing water. If you become dehydrated, you lose blood volume which causes your blood to thicken. The consequences for your extremities are pretty poor. Blood is diverted to the vital organs as opposed to your hands and feet etc. So layer up well with a good thermal mid layer and a thermal/windstopper jacket! Castelli Flanders long sleeve base is bloody great. Planet X do a great vest too, and cheap. Castelli Velocissimo jacket, Gortex Infinium works well. Castelli Alpha ROS 2 jacket is also worth a look. Lots of options and lots of money! 😁✌️

This is great information thanks for the review. I am looking for something to fill this void as well. Seems like these might be worth a shot. Just curious on your test ride what you wore on your feet. Having trouble finding something warm enough in that area for the same range of temps (right under and above freezing)

I wish i had read the comments before i bought these. You would think Europeans could make gloves suitable for Australian winter. These gloves are good down to 3 degrees . Anything below zero they are just not up to it. For the price you pay they are disappointing.
@Veloharmony Жыл бұрын
I've had to use liners with them. I ended up selling them off on Ebay, because the velcro kept grabbing my liners when I was putting them on.
@mokotramp2 жыл бұрын
No need for the velcro, I hate the stuff! Too much of a risk snagging inside my expensive Castelli and Sportful jackets, like I've had happen with horrible velcro cuffs. An elasticated cuff like on the Perfetto is adequate...

I wrote off a hideously expensive pair of bib shorts due to glove velcro so I feel your pain.
