Great job, you did that perfectly. I have done the same but uses a metal form from the 30s or 40s used to make decorative blocks. Had metal plate on the bottom that stayed with the block till it cured. Had special tools with the unit to help pact the cement. suggestion the next time use a slightly taper block for the block hole it will come out far easier.

Beautiful work. I make my own bricks for around the yard but they definitely don't look nearly this nice lol. I just used some of that foam insulation stuff to make forms and use cheap ripped bags of concrete I get for a $1. It works but it has gravel in it so definitely doesn't come out nearly as nice and you have to wait until it's nearly dry to remove them from the form. I definitely want to try this style.

try using a window screen sifter to remove the gravel .i would oak the core blocks in oil so the mortar does not stick to them . i also would round the corners so they are more structurally sound . i don't know why he used a 1 to 1 ratio, i would use portland or s type cement in a 1 cement to 3-1/2 sand ratio

So my design was a steel mould where u can remove the concrete block while still moist, takes around 2 mins per block to make. If u need 2000 blocks, the method in this video will take months.

They don't know what they're doing it doesn't take that long to make bricks... Use quick cement

He is doing it properly, the strongest cement is minimal amount of water. I have made some doing the same process, they are half again as heavy and a bear to cut by a chisel. This is fellow knows what he is doing, it is time consuming but he will have high quality blocks that will last for almost forever. This was the way it was done years ago. Will take a good week for the blocks to cure.
