Hi Tom, Glad to be first up as maybe I’ll get a response…….This is a bit off topic to video but I’m thinking maybe relevant to all fly fishing videos and that is this question: Is the desiccant used to dry flies harmful to both fish and the ecosystem? Most brands say they are safe for the environment but I imagine a small fish being the first to mouth a just desiccated fly gets quite a hit of the stuff. I watch your vids and you are very conscious of effects we, as fisherman have on the environment and I see that you recommend them. Just wondering if you can add your experienced take as I have never used them. Thanks!

Geez I’ve been doing a Belgium cast without knowing I was doing a Belgium cast. I didn’t know it was a thing. I use that cast even on non windy days.

Tom, With a wind from the back I cast so the presentation is high and will catch the wind to go further.
