Tnank you for making these videos. I aapreciate all the work that goes into them. I started hand knitting at about 37 years of age under doctor's orders because of my very high blood pressure. I was only knitting blocks of stockinette, and sometimes 2x2 ribbing. Then ripping it out and doing it again! It brought my BP down to the lowest it had ever been. Funny but true. Eventually I started knitting hats, and gloves and socks. Now, someone gave me a Studio Chunky Knitter 150 I think. I'm using your video s to learn how to use it. Thanks so much for your help and advice!

Many people do not realize that crafting can lower our BP or even lift our spirits, so I am glad your doctor mentioned that to you. And it sounds like you started out like most people do, small samples, rip back, try something else until we start making things. Then some of us do not have little ones to knit or craft for, so then we start donating (one word of caution, do not give anything you make to anyone else to donate to anything, some people are so greedy they will take another persons hard work and claim as theirs) which gives a satisfied feeling and again help us to be healthy. So it sounds like you have the SK150, I do have a few videos on how that machine works, just that I had to use my SK155 to show it so I hope those help, here is a link to some of them. Then the rest of it will all fall into place. kzbin.infosearch?query=SK150 Berda

+Roberta Rose Kelley Thank you so much. I already had an experience with greedy people that took finished objects that should have been donated and kept them. I appreciate your generous help.

So sorry you had to also deal with those people, I did once and that was it, now I make sure any donations goes directly to the children or people and all I ask in return is a thanks you from them, which they do but I have seen many greedy people in my lifetime, it is a wonder they are even still around. Anything you need help with, I am here for you, email is better as I do not get to my KZbin messages as I should. Berda

Your video enabled success in casting on - thank you. I've looked but cannot find how tension and stitch length affect quality of stitch. Could you please make a video on this? Thank you for your clear presentations.

Hi, On my 322 I only use the ravel cord method when I do a tension square and I find knitting more than 5 rows (DK/4 ply yarn) the cord is difficult to remove.Even after 25 plus years of using an LK150 I's still a learner when it comes to my 322 even though the basics are similar - like your videos as well.

So maybe try using a higher TD number for the ravel cord only, maybe that will help. I will do that for WY and Ravel Cord but need to remember to put the dial back to normal before I start using the Main Yarn. I am still learning and I have been machine knitting for almost 30 years now and all I had for my first 15 years was the brother KX350 but got it to make what I wanted until I saved up for a good metal bed machine, which was my first SK/SR155. Hello am impressed with the knowledge of all the machines. And I need your opinion on What type of yarn to uses on my machine if you don’t minded.

Thanks you. So on the bulky machines, you will use Worsted Weight to maybe Double Knit yarn, for the standard machines, I used 2 or 3 strands of 2/24 coned yarn to sport yarn. Then the Mid-gauge will be in the middle, it can use some of the newer slippery worsted weight yarns but awesome with sport or DK yarn.

machineknittingetc.com/catalogsearch/result/?order=date&dir=desc&q=sk700 have 3 pdf files that you can download and look at. Actually the machine I used in this video was the SK210, at least that is what I think it was. I have had numerous machines over the years, my ex is holding what I had before he kicked me out of his life and took in a youngster as his new bride, up at our house. But he was always selfish and wanted everything from many, not just myself.

hi Roberta, I have the singer studio 303 ,,I have a couple of questions, my stitches are really tight and make tiny stitches. is there a way to make looser stitches on this machine besides using every other needle? I am looking at the 9mm bulky brother machine. if I knitted every other needle on my machine is that basically the same as a 9mm machine? thank you for any help, Suzette

Suzie Bender I am thinking that you have too thick a yarn, even at EON. I found that some of the newer slippery yarns work best that way on the standard with using EON. But to get a mid-gauge or bulky may work out better for you or anyone else that is having the same problem. Or use some 3 ply yarn with going EON but I can use that yarn with the TD up on 9 or 10 good but all depending on the yarn used, some are rough where others are nice and soft. Hope that helps. Berda

Hi Roberta. I have been a long time subscriber. I haven't used my Studio LK 155 for a few years and feel like it could use a good cleaning. Do you have a video that would help me get started again? I have forgotten what yarn I can use with my machine?
@RobertaRoseMeads
@RobertaRoseMeads 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question, I do have a few cleaning tips on the different machines, even go into replacing the drums, but sure that is not a problem for you. If your drums are a bit stiff, first try a hair dryer to warm up any congealed grease. But most important first is get a new sponge bar, that is if you kept that in the machine. I tend to take mine out of the machines when I know I will not use that machine for awhile. But watch some of these: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3Wmqp-wm6udi7s

The 360 doesn’t seem to use worsted weight yarn. Am I doing something wrong or is it supposed to take smaller yarn?
@RobertaRoseMeads
@RobertaRoseMeads 4 жыл бұрын
No, the 360 is a standard machine, but you can use EON with some worsted weight yarns, not all but the softer it is, better on this machine.

What's ravel cord?
@RobertaRoseMeads
@RobertaRoseMeads 4 жыл бұрын
It is a nylon cord, easy to start out with WY, than knit a row of the ravel cord and then push back the work and needles out to HP, do a closed cast on. Thin fishing line I am told will do the same, I have used crochet cotton but rarely get to reuse it.
