Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you all enjoy this video. You too can make your own custom dice with some simple steel tubing and a little bit of creativity. Let me know what you’d like to see made next and I’ll see you all next week! Happy melting 👍🏻

Would it work with brass or copper?
@ArtByAdrock3 жыл бұрын
It would but you could risk the copper fusing to the steel
@nullsnaggle51983 жыл бұрын
@@ArtByAdrock fair point would brass do the same?

I'm a big disc golfer and I've always wanted to see someone make an aluminum disc. I'm so curious how it will fly when thrown too. Could even buy a disc for a mold then melt it out of the plaster. Thanks for all that you do. You're artwork and labor of love is truly appreciated.

Nice 6 sided die. Ive made the first 6 plutonic dice in aluminum with drywall mud but use a stamp for the numbers rather than etch. They were popular with D&D players.

Question: could you use the same steel pipes, melting brass, to make custom brass dice? Enjoyed the process, but personally am a fan of the gold color of brass a little more than the silver color of aluminum.
@hanelyp13 жыл бұрын
Brass would be far more likely to stick to the steel, like brazing. But brass bars could be cast in columns formed in sand.
@JonathanARae3 жыл бұрын
how do you clean the residue stuck inside the crucible? Do you keep them segregated based on what they were holding previously?

Just up the street from you in Logandale. I made a set of tongs for you but before I could contact you you came out with the nice set that you poured. Doesn't the inside burr in the steel tubing interfere with the extraction or did you clean it out?

Are you able to do this with copper or will it fuze itself to the steel due to the higher melting temps?
@ArtByAdrock3 жыл бұрын
It will probably fuse but you might get lucky and it’ll pop out.

Silly question, but what was the square tubes made of? Looks a lot like aluminum square tube, but I wouldn't imagine that you could pour molten aluminum into cold aluminum. But mild steel or black steel square tube is darker. So stainless? If so, did you special order from somewhere? I've only seen aluminum and mild steel square tube at local big box stores.
