I really like those tongs, I am preparing to do sand casting. I have a new Devil Forge and have been casting bars and round ingots. so I will be building several different size casting boxes in the very near future. Thanks to yours and Bigstacks videos I have finally started melting. getting better every time I melt. I have built my own tongs, a lifter and a pouring tongs but I will have a nice set of these aluminum bronze tongs sometime in the future. Thanks again and keep the videos coming.

Given that you melted these at temperatures you're going to continue to work at, how well are they going to hold up when you expose them to the same high temps for other pours ?

Hi, i have a small foundry which i do all sorts of little melts but i have an issue with crap that keeps sticking to my crucible after i pour. The next time i melt i have to heat my crucible to red hot to get the remaining crap out that is stuck to the inside. Any suggestions or tips please? What is the best crucible to use please? Thanks from the UK

@Slide1003 жыл бұрын
Very nice, as usual. 😄 I’m curious, though. To make the second half, why not use the ingot and the sprues from the first one? Then you would only have to add a smaller amount of the pelletized material.
@goldiesincity80053 жыл бұрын
Those tongs turned out so nice that i wouldn't even use them , atleast not to often .
@aarongonzales92893 жыл бұрын
How many different parts did you have to slice those into? It looked like four. I wouldn't be able to make the handles with one print a piece. Do you think that would be an issue?
@ArtByAdrock3 жыл бұрын
I sliced it into 4 pieces. You’ll only need to print 1 half though if you are gonna do one at a time like I did.

Wont that melt when handling that hot cubicle? Cool clip
@ArtByAdrock3 жыл бұрын
No, it would take 10 minutes to melt them from a solid and that’s inside the molten metal so holding them on there isn’t a problem which is significantly a lower temp.
